I haven't been to the movies since Dec 27, 2003. Sad how I can remember the date of my last visit to the theatre, but I can't remember simple words when I'm telling somebody something.
I used to go to the movies all the time - I put myself thru college working at theatres, that's also how I met my DH. I went to the movies on my 1 and only night off. I loved going to the movies, now I just can't bring myself to go.
The surround sound is sooo overwhelming, can't deal w/ the noise. I can't sit in those seats, I fidgit and of course, I have to get up to go to the ladie's room. I HAVE to sit on the end of the aisle, or I get into a panic. I miss seeing a brand new movie. SIGH!
I love old movies, got several of them for Christmas. Got a few new ones for my DH, my children will share their's w/ us. I can sit on my comfy couch w/ all my cozy pillows, afghan and puppies around me. I get up as needed and I can cry at sad movies w/o trying to hide my tears. lol
As much as I loved going to the movies yrs ago, the bottom line is it is more important to me to be comfortable. I would pay for sitting in a theatre for 2 hrs or more, it just isn't worth it to me.
God bless. Alice.
