So I guess I'm through all the tests and all came back fine except deficient is few vitamins and positive on some viruses. I don't think my Dr believes in fibro so seeing on new one in a week. I basically have diagnosed myself cause of research. I really just want an answer for why I feel the way I do. I really don't know what else it could be though. So just wondering how long it took for diagnoses. I just feel so stressed right now...so ready for answers from Dr. Can you tell I'm hurting tonight?!

Don't waste your money on a Dr. That doesn't believe in fibro. It took many years, mostly had to educate my Dr.on what I learned here. I kind of do the trial and error thing. I wasn't getting better with what they had to offer, so I attempted some natural things and so much better. Far from normal, but at least I am stable.

Welcome Us7....My advice would be to get an appointment with a Rhuemy doc. or a pain management doc. they know what to look for. I had my fibro dx the same day I seen my Rhuemy doc. Good luck and I hope you get answers soon.

I have been seeing a rheumatologist for two months or longer now. All ages given me.is naproxen, which does nothing. I decided to change Dr cause everytime I bring up fibro shell say I wanna find out if its something else before I say its all in your head....

That is just rude and uncalled for, I would report her to the medical board for making comments like that. To answer your question, I had localized pain and cerviogenic headaches for a year and a half before my dx, however the second I went to my doctor complaining about widespread pain, he did the tenderpoint test and some more blood work to eliminate other problems he diagnosed me with fibro and started me on Savella that day. I hope you are able to get some answers soon.

Hi, it took me about 2 years tofigure out what was going on. I started out with osteoarthritis in my hands and when the pain continued to get worse all over I saw a rhuem. She wasnt at all helpful, just said I didnt have rheumatoid and maybe I should kind of just live with it. I moved to tne NYC area and fou d a good rheum that talked to me and listened to everything I had to say. His thought was I had fibro but ran some tests which were all neg but the ANA was positive. That combined with all the issues I told him I was having he concluded that ihave fibro. Going back on Friday for 2nd follow up. My advice is to get a recommendation for a good rheumatologist in your area. Ask your primary, friends, even research onli e about dr.s. Good luck and hope this helps.

about 5 months from when I really started having problems and knew something was really wrong. It started in late july. Seen my family doctor a few times over a couple weeks in August. Pretty much told me to excerise and made me feel like he thought it was in my head since my blood work came back normal. Seen a rheum in Sept. He did blood work, xrays, and spent an hour in the exam room. Told me what kinds of arthritis I have and started me on meds for it and gabapenten so I could sleep. Went back a few weeks later when all my blood work was back. He then redid some of them, added some other blood tests and another med. When I went back at the end of December he told me I have fibro.
