Thank goodness when I woke up today we had fog! It is such a relief to have the sun blotted out with cool fog. I live near Santa Barbara, California. Everyone here worships the sun, and all think I am absolutely crazy to abhor it they way I do. I also call myself a "vampire", just to joke with friends and shrug it off. I am trying to find a good night shift job because I am awake more at night than during the day. I don't know if the sun makes my fibro worse, or if the evening and night makes it better. I have looked in to moving to the Pacific North West, even Alaska...But I don't think I could handle the long daylight hours of the summers there. Is anyone else's Fibro affected adversely by the heat or sun?

Ack. I don't cope with the cold - Melbourne cold or otherwise - either. The penetrating damp and strong, cold, winds, send me into a mess of frozen joints and soreness that take ages to pass. My ideal temperature is about 22C - maybe I should live in a biosphere :-)

At least things have cooled down now...

Fall is my favourite season too. If I can be in pants and a sweater with the sun shining, that's just perfect!
I'm in northern Ontario, Canada, and this winter is really taking its toll on me. Strange since it's been quite mild here, comparitively speaking from what it usually is. We just got our second cold snap.
But hot and humid does me in too, not so much with pain but a complete drain of my energy.

Welcome Mystie....I can relate when I turned 40 things started falling apart...I am now 50 and wish I could say its my new 40, but no such luck...lol I have to say though since I have found HW forum and started reading posts and chatting with people on here, I have felt alot better in a better frame on mind. I think because you realize...wow I am not alone there are others suffering and they understand.

My hubby and family have been great throughout this mess but really until you go through CP, Fibro ,depression or any chronic illness you can be supportive but they really do not understand. I hope you find this forum helpful to you, it is filled with some much wisdom and uplifting spirits that it is a breath of fresh air....all the best to you.
