This is something new that has just started...my scalp seems to itch so bad, it feels as if i have lice or something. I even had myself checked for lice...i have switched shampoo 3 times this week. Nothing seems to help make it better. It will just sporadically start itching and not stop until i realize im not scratching. Does anyone else experience, im stumped on this one.
Thanks in advance for any imput and hope everyone is having a good start to the new year..

Me too...I have noticed several times I feel like I have bugs in my hair but don't.  I have tried to use different shampoos too...no luck yet.

Still "buggy" in ATL...lol

Right now your heat is probably on and I know that dries out my skin.  I do have a water softener and that really helps with itchy skin a lot.  I also have to wash my hair every day so I use a really good daily shampoo that isn't strong like other shampoos.  I buy it on line but originally got it at my hairdresser's business.  A store in my mall called Trade Secrets sells this, too.  It's called Splassh Daily Shampoo and is made by Brocato.  This has helped with an itchy scalp for me

I get that buggy feeling you mentioned. Sometimes it is all over my body, other times only the scalp. Be careful when trying different shampoos. I have made the situation worse, because of exposure to too many different types of soap in a few days time. Hope you feel better soon.

Ladies,

I tried using neem oil shampoo. I get it at the health food store. I think it will help all of you.. It doesnt' lather much but is an anticeptic. Give it a try. Also may need himidifier on in your house, I have had a lot of electticity in my hair.

Are any of you taking Savella by any chance? My scalp started itching a couple weeks after I started taking it so I looked it up and sure enough! Alot of other people online were complaining about it too. Just a thought.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought it was just me-i thought i was going mad! Mine has been itching for weeks and i couldn't understand why. That's why i love this site-there's always somebody with the same problem.

I was doing some internet research on it last night and it could be a "cold rash" they have a medical name for this of course. I guess that could make sense, as we are all mostly so sensitive to everything anyway. Well its good to know im not alone..unfortunately it's started on my face and i've suddenly started breaking out too on my face. And i have no idea why, The only thing that i've done different is a facial cleanser and moisturizer by mary kay that i got for christmas. I have no idea why this is happening suddenly but sure is annoying. Its small bumps, feels like burning, and sometimes itchy...feels like my face is really really tight. UGH

I thought mine was because I colored my hair.  I have become so much more sensitive and allergic to things.   I try to color it only twice a year and if I can accept the silver look I may stop altogether.  Anyway it has been almost two months since I colored my hair and my head has still been itching so I went to Walmart and bought Organic Tea Tree oil shampoo and organic conditioner and it has really been helping.  I think it is just part of the burning itching symptom that we just have to deal with and anxiety makes the symptoms worse.

Allergies can show up in different parts of your body, it could be meds you are on.
Remember with fibro it could be meds you have been on for a while that your body has decided it is allergic too.

Hi all

I realised that my scalp start to itch in the mornings upon waking after night sweats. 

This itchiness are caused by the sweats or one of the symptoms of FM?

Im only taking muscle relaxer and Acetaminophen at the moment.

Anybody have such experience your input is much appreciated.

I have been itching my head for YEARS, I thought it was a nervous habit...I had no idea it might be linked to FM.... I cant believe how many issues Ive had over the years that have been just sorta pushed aside or I was told to deal wtih it, have been linked to my now diagnosis of FM....

I have found that using shampoo with tea tree in it help. Its refreshing and anteseptic for the scalp.
