Neuropathy tends top start in the lower limbs and spread upward,, hence the glove and stocking description, sensory nerves are the nerves closest to the surface of the skin, tehre responsible for touch,, how things feel, for me,, touching satin is like touching cardboard, water from a shower feels like needles, the nerves lose there insulation, and get raw, impulses to the nerves get all mixed up,, they dont know what to do, they spin out of control and things that shouldnt hurt, like touching something cold, become painful,
Neuros will do there EMG studies and tell you everything is fine, thats all well and good if your problem isnt one of falling down, since the EMG is onlly studying the large nerves,, the ones responsible for keeping our legs arms moving,, the only way they can tell if you have sensory loss is to do a punch biopsy which is a simple procedure,, better then a EMG,, trouble is,, they dont want to do it, its expensive,, and the sample needs sent out to a specilit lab for reading, took them two years to find out what was wrong with me,, the sensory nerves are shot, this after almost three years of them saying,, we cant find anything,, its in your head,,
