Hi, Heather, and welcome! I'm go glad you popped over here! Yes, you could possibly have fibro. There are no real tests for fibro so you need to have other illnesses ruled out. It seems that's what you have done. There is a tenderpoint test that is used that helps determine if you are dealing with fibro. You also could be dealing with two things at once. Many of us have that, too. A rheumatologist is a good doctor to see for a diagnosis but make sure that any doctor you see treats fibro patients. Some doctors are still in the Dark Ages when it comes to this illness.
I have the chest pains off and on. Mine is caused by Costochondritis. If I press on my sternum, it is very tender when it's acting up and it hurts to take a breath. I have heart palpatations, too. I had that checked out to make sure there wasn't something else going on. We have what we lovingly call Fibro Fog, too. I could go on and on.
Be sure to read Fibro 101...the second thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you can learn a lot there. Good starting links for you are called Symptoms, What Else Could It Be, and A Thorough Explanation of Fibromyalgia. You just might see yourself there. There is also a link about Costochondritis. You might want to check that out too. Actually, all of Fibro 101 is a good read and you can get ideas to help you.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you.
