Hello everybody, It has been a long time since I have been on here !!   Much thanks to everyone on here for giving me so much advice and help during my time of need for answers!!  I would like to ask everyone if they have body twitches... I have them all over my body , but mostly on my face and eyes. It is driving me crazy.. Caffeine seems to aggravate this condition... 

 I know body and face twitches are just one of the many unpleasant symptoms of Fibro>>  I just would like to hear from those that  experience this very annoying condition.. This has been bothering me for a few months.. even my lips twitch.. It's crazy !!  Not all the time, but most of the time.. like i said Caffeine seems to make it worse. I would really appreciate any feed back>>

When super-stressed, this does happen to me. I would*guess* that caffeine and sugar do indeed make it worse. Deep breathing, meditation, relaxation exercises, even moist heat can help relieve the spasm.

If you need caffeine,
switch to green tea, unsweetened, and spread 4 cups of it out through the day. Green tea is a antioxidant and has 25% of the amount of caffeine in coffee. It can help you wean off caffeine without headaches from withdrawal. Another benefit it has is that after a few months of use it speeds up metabolism.

Try to do anything you can to increase and improve your sleep.

I only get eye twitches from lack of sleep, but I get twitches in a variety of other places fairly often.

I get horrible twitches in the big muscle that runs down the front of my leg. I get them in other places also, but that one bothers me the most. It gets so bad that my leg is sore to touch. Magnesium makes mine stop, but I can't take it all the time because it makes me have acid reflux. Hope this helps.

I have been having twitching in my left eyelid all morning. Its aggravating because it messes with my vision :( I also get twitches in my thigh muscles.

I was getting bigtime twitching in my leg when I was on gabapentin. I'm glad I don't do caffiene or sugar. Those twitches can be very difficult to deal with.

Thanks for all of the replies ...  The twitches are at times  unbearable... both eyes and around my mouth.. also my legs..   Real bothersome... I have done my share of research .. I just find it a comfort when other people also talk about their experiences !!  Thanks for sharing !!  :-)

When I am really low on magnesium, my eye will start twitching and messing with my vision. I have muscle twitches a lot, so I down about 3 tablets of magnesium daily. (I just wish I could get rid of the muscle spasm that knots my back when I stretch. I have not been able to do a good back stretch in years because it will twist and knot up until I want to scream.)

I can relate Mrsppmrxky, I have the back thing going on too. like you It has been a long time since I have been able to do a good back stretch, and when I do it feels like a huge charley horse.. Real painful>>  So i feel your pain ! shakehead
