Well, I never thought I would be saying this. I just wanted my fibro family to know. I have been in a flare lately and know it's the stress of waiting for test results.

I will handle this like I handle fibro. I know it will be tough but I can do this. I don't know what the treatment plan is yet. Going to find out today I think.

This just was not my plan!

Puppylover, I'm so sorry!  I hope this is an early detection and that, as Austen said, the treatment will be quick and effective.  I'll be praying for that.

 

Do keep that positive outlook.  That always helps, no matter what you are dealing with.  We are here for you, too.  Many prayers heading your way.

Count me in on praying for you, Puppylover. Your mind must be flying in 20 different directions right now. I'm glad that you have your precious furbaby to help calm you.

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I hope it's in early detection and I pray for a quick recovery. Stay strong and continue to let us know how you are doing.

Wow, I sure didn't see this one coming. Know that we are all right here with you. Do let us know how the tests come out and what kind of treatment that you are going to have. I agree your mind must be all over the place right now. But one day at a time hon...

Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that it was caught early enough so that everything will be okay.

I am so sorry to hear about this. But like Sherrine says, a positive attitude gets you a long ways.

Puppylover, I'm sad to hear of your diagnosis of breast cancer. Prayers that it's in the early stages. I am a breast cancer survivor and have been cancer free for three yrs. now. Mine was caught early and I had radiation but no chemo. I am doing fine now except for my Fibro, OA and IBS. Stay strong and keep a positive attitude and remember your Fibro family is hear for you.

I just reread you post and realize that I jumped the gun. You are still waiting for results so hopefully you do not have BC. I pray you don't, but if you do reread my first post. :) One more important thing.........always keep a sence of humor. Life is much easier to bear when you have laughter in your life.

Thanks for all of the prayers and good thoughts. I do meet with the surgeon on Thursday.

I have 3 areas of concern in one breast and they may not be able to save it. Believe or not I am ok with this, if that is the dx. I could live, literally, without it.

I never, ever, worried about breast cancer But, here it is. As they say, I am a member of a big club that no one wants to belong to. But, as my friend(a survivor) pointed out, I am a member now and I look good in pink.

I am a very positive person and my husband and I will go through this together. I told my grown boys last night and one of them emailed me. "Mom. I know you will be fine, and, by the way, laughter is the best medicine." Then he sent me a bunch of youtube funny videos.

Puppy lover, if you don't mind me asking, what made you go to the Dr. Was it an annual exam that found it? Ii have been putting mine off and this gave me thought.

Angel, I have gotten yearly mammograms for years. I have been called back for repeat check ups before. This year was a surprise. They found a problem.

I am a strong believer in regular mammograms. I might have to have a mastectomy, yet my mammogram last year was fine.

I would at least go for a breast examine. I never, ever, thought breast cancer was a posibility.

I can only speak for myself,but I think mammograms are a wonderful tool.

I get them yearly. Had to have surgery in 2000, but have been fine since then. Keeping fingers crossed, I lost a sister to breast cancer.

I hope and pray that this is easy for you. You have a great attitude. Keep your chin up and take it one day at at time...

We are all here for you Puppylover. I love puppies too. I have a german shepherd that is very spoiled. I love her so much.

Keep your furbabies close to you.

Puppylover, I just want to say that I think you will be just fine, whether you need surgery or not.  My aunt developed a lump on her breast and wouldn't go to the doctor for it.  Once she did, all they could do was a mastectomy.  This was back in 1985.  Once this was done, she never had another problem with cancer!  She passed on 20 years later of a heart attack....not cancer.

 

The fact that you have been so diligent about mammograms, this most certainly is an early detection.  This is a huge plus for you.  I, too, get yearly mammograms and feel it's extremely important.

 

I'll be praying for you and I'm so glad you have such a strong support system at home.

Dear Pupplover,

I am just reading your post now...I am so sorry to hear this. The treatment today is simply unbelievable. People are LIVING with cancer and BEATING  it!! yeah I sense you are a very organized person. I'm sure right now, you are feeling somewhat stressed and anxious, but once you meet with the surgeon and find out your options, you will sit down with your husband and make a plan and then FIGHT LIKE HELL! You are a strong woman. You have a good support system here on this site as well as your family and most importantly, you get UNCONDTIONAL love from your beautiful Golden Retriever, who is there and will be there every step of the way with you.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and I am sending positive thoughts your way...

I will keep you in prayers. I have fibro, and 2 brain tumors. I am in chemotherapy myself, and know the hard journey you will battle. If you ever need anything, let me know. Even to cry upon. I am much like you, always postive and good sense of humor.

Puppylover, My prayers are with you. I, too, hope you have a good treatment plan and everything works out well. My MIL had 10 or so lumps in one breast and had them removed and had radiation. She never even felt sick or bad and she's a 5-year survivor. Good luck, Diane

Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes. They mean a lot to me.

I did have the initial consultation with the surgeon today. I still need an MRI but the activity I am having in my breast kind of covers several big areas, so he said to plan on a mastectomy. I will be having another consult after the MRI to confirm. I already had been told by the radiologist that if all areas were bad saving the breast would be kind of difficult, so I wasn't surprised.

This was not in my plans for the year but I am ready to get going and start treatment.
It should happen in March. Then I will be on my way to getting well.

Thanks again to all. I'm trying to keep my regular schedule for now--so my golden and I are going for our walk now. She puts a smile on my face. :-)

You are truly an inspiration, Puppylover!  How we handle things like this makes a huge difference in our recovery so I expect you will do just great because of your wonderful attitude and your looking toward the future.  I'm so proud of you.

Keep up the good 'tude, Puppylover and you keep walking that Golden! How can you NOT have a smile on your face looking at that sugar face? Your baby will be with you every single step of the way and we will be too...we are here for you!!
