mri's

has anyone had an mri which found a single white matter lesion. I'm going for a lumbar puncture the fifteenth and I am nervous. I have tingling all over and the nerve conduction studies are normal but I have a white matter lesion thats been there for atleast a year and its unchanged.

yes I have had a Mri of which you are talking about, I have two lessions in the white matter of the brain, I went about a year and half ago they found it, Had another mri just a few months ago And they have not changed , But I had some  things changing like worse migrains falling So they did a lumbar puncture to Test for Ms,I was so afraid of the lumbar puncture But it was not bad at all No pain for me But I think it has changed over the years,The test will check for many things, Its good to have al these things checked out, My Doctor told me that age can also do things like this I was worried about strokes,  So hope it all works out for you,Take care

Well Now you are looking into all these things , I do hope that everything turns out good, I do understand worry,
It is hard not to worry sometimes, I pray that your day becomes a little more peaceful, Its just hard f to face what you dont know or understand could be going on, But maybe soon you will have answers, Until then its always nice to have support, And these forums seem full of that ,

Nana68, the fibro might be getting worse due to your anxiety and the stress. Stress is HUGE, at least for me, in causing exacerbation of my fibro symptoms. Easier said than done...try to relax, I know, as I said, easier said than done. Try to find a way ...either meditation, a hot bath, a walk, talking to a therapist, or just trying to find five things you are grateful for and repeating that list daily. It's amazing how that can uplift your spirits. I wish you well

I use melatonin 5 mg for sleep, Doesnt help with pain but maybe it will help you rest, Rest is so imporatnat and something most of us lack when we feel bad, Also I know Im going to go to My Doctor and see if I can get on a antidepressiant , I know streess can be a big trigger on pain and well being, Just remember nana that no change in The lession can be a good thing, It sounds like you are dealing with alot of different things

Nana, just let your doctor know.  You know to eat something when you have a low blood sugar event.  Medications can do this, too.  So be sure to let your doctor know about this.  It's not really bad at all but you will get shaky when your blood sugar gets in that area.  Carry a piece of candy and maybe a snack with you.  I carry a piece of hard candy and a snack bag with a few sour dough pretzel nuggets with me just in case I have a low blood sugar event.  I'm diabetic so my meds can cause this, too.

 

Miriam gave you great advice.  PLEASE try to calm down.  Stress can do anything to you.

that figures...I heard that the lumbar punctures are pretty much useless too unless they find protein and even then its still hard to figure out exactly what it is.
