Hi, BuddysGirl, and welcome! I'm so glad you joined our family! Oh, hip pain. I've been dealing with this for months. For years I used ibuprofen with food to help with the pain but can no longer take it due to stomach ulcers. I definitely have fibromyalgia but ibuprofen shouldn't have helped me that much because fibro isn't an inflammatory illness so now they are looking into auto immune arthritis,too...lupus is in that list. But, since you do have lupus, perhaps ibuprofen before bed might help some. Always ask your doctor or pharmacist first, though, to make sure there wouldn't be any interactions with other meds you are taking.
Right now I'm using Tramadol (which isn't helping me) and Robaxin, which is a muscle relaxor. I use a gel called Sombra and it really helps a lot. I especially love that it comes in a roll on so I don't get the product on my hands. I keep it on my nightstand and when the hip pain hits in the middle of the night I just grab it, roll some on my hips and go back to sleep....don't even have to get out of bed! I do move off the offending hip for a while but usually can go back on it. I do have a curved spine and of course the hip I need to lie on is the one that hurts. Story of my life! Anyway, here is a link to Sombra in case you are interested. As you see, others have products that help them, too. We are all so different so we need to try various things to see what helps us the best.

Be sure to read Fibro 101...the second thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there. It sounds like you have had fibro for a while and so have I but I'm constantly learning new things about this crazy illness. Fibro 101 is jam packed with goodies.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
