Hello Grandmaroses :)
First off, believe me, I can understand / relate to your pain and frustration, as I've had FM for 20+ years !
However, I believe your findings with artificial sweeteners just prove once again, that FM is different for everybody.
I never ate artificial sweeteners (unless by accident) because I was too busy shoveling down real sugar by the ton, along with every other heavily proccessed, "bad for your health" stuff I found in front of me.

So then, after 20+ years of suffering, I turned my whole life around.... started working out like a masd man, and eating like a healthfood freak ! Hardly nothing proccessed, lots of fruits ands veggies, excellent macro balance..... All good right ?
Except for one little thing > To replace all of the sugary crap I used to eat, I eat more artificial sweetener, than probably any 20 people on this forum "combined".....
And yet, I have put my FM into 95% remission. I honestly feel like a different person.... or should I say {much of the time} like a person without FM.
Might I die from cancer ? Sure. Or any other of a million possible things. Such is life. But I sure feel freaking great today ! And fixing to go enjoy a beautiful day on the water :)

Anyway, again, I totally am not doubting that art. sweeteners have negative effects on you, and it's great that you have figured this out, so you know to avoid it. Might be the case for some others too.
For myself though, it was losing 110 lbs of fat, gaining 35 lbs of muscle, and getting the rest of my diet really straightened out, that has "nearly cured" my FM. I'm sure it would come back worse than ever if I ever quit living the way I am now. So I usally say "in remission" rather than "cured".....
Their is always hope :)
