Hi i am new to this forum. I have had m.e for about 10yrs so i am used to all my symtoms etc. I have gotten worse this last 6 weeks and i think it could be fibromyalgia as my gp mentioned it a few yrs ago when i was aching etc.

I keep getting random shooting pains, aching all over like when you are getting flu, my right arm keeps feeling weak/tingling/prickly/cold and numb feelings and a few times my fingers have felt like they cramp together for a few seconds. My right shoulder blade is sore and my right hip. I also get numb feelings in my right leg. I am getting headaches every day and feel really down and cry all the time and i have no energy. I don't sleep very well and when i do i have scary weird dreams. I keep feeling hot and clammy for no reason and i generally feel unwell.

Can anyone relate to these and do they sound like fibromyalgia symptoms?

I am seeing a gp at 4 today and i am going to ask for bloods took and to be referred to a rheumatologist because i need answers and i am not getting fobbed off with m.e and anxiety like i always do.

Hi, Zipster, and welcome!  Oh, yes, those are all symptoms of fibro.  We also can have that anxiety monster, too.  I'm so glad you are going to ask your doctor for a referral to a rheumatologist also.  Your doctor most likely will refer you to a good rheumy but call and see if they treat fibro patients.  There are still some doctors out there in the Dark Ages when it comes to this illness.  Maybe your GP can answer this question because he might send patients he suspects have fibro to them. 

 

Be sure to read Fibro 101...the second thread on the forum.  There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there.  Good starting links for you would be the ones called Symptoms, What Else Could It Be, and A Thorough Explanation of Fibromyalgia.  All the links are good so please read them.  You know what they say...knowledge is power!

My doctor is doing a load of bloods first and then see what the bloods are like and then he will decide to either send me to a rheumatologist or an immunologist.
The numb/tingly/prickly and odd feeling in my right arm is scary, it feels like it's not my arm if that makes sense?
I keep feeling hot/clammy like i am going to feint.
I know we can have anxiety as well because i have had it in the past but i have never had this with my arm.

Try not to get too upset.  I get tingling and numbness, too.  Not in my arms but in my legs and feet.  I sometimes feel like there is water running down my leg but there is nothing there.  I will get either hot or cold patches...the cold ones like I've been sitting on a bag of ice...but to touch my skin, it's not hot or cold.  It's things like this that have the doctors thinking this is a neurological illness.

 

Worrying about it will make it worse because of anxiety but I'm sure you know this already.  Just relax as much as possible and let the doctors do their work.  It sounds like you have a good doctor there!

I know anxiety makes everything worse but it's hard not to worry sometimes isn't it.
I keep getting cold patches too on my leg and prickly sensations in my arms. It's so hard to know what's with what, when i look at fibro symptoms i think oh that's me, when i look at cfs symptoms i think oh that's me and when i look at anxiety forums i think that's me as well lol.
I had been doing ok but then i got a lump on my belly and i always think the worst and i worried about it and it was a fatty lump and now i have all these symptoms and i am not even worried or anxious now about the stupid lump.

I know it's scary because it makes you think you have a brain tumour or MS or something neurologically wrong. I keep having to think what i am saying and have terrible brain fog.

I get the tingling in hans and feet, sometimes pretty painful in the feet and I have seen them change color. It's like being stabbed with thousands of small pins. I have gotten the feeling of something warm and wet on my leg. I also get the sharp pains like when one has the flu.

I sometimes think it's starting to rain but it's the little prickles on my body. I just feel scared that something else is going on because i have hade m.e/cfs for over 10yrs but this is different. Does anyone else know if it's common to have m.e/cfs and then symptoms change to fibro?

You can have fibro AND these other illnesses.

What do you mean sherrine you can have fibro and these other illnesses? Do you mean anxiety and m.e/cfs?

I don't mean to alarm you, but yes, you can have all this and unfortunatly sometimes more. I'd guess most of us here have several things going on.
