New here: extreme hip pain and fatigue

Hi everyone. New here read fibrous 101 but not finding anything. Diagnosed. With fibrous in 2012. However I believe I have had it for over 20 years. This past week was exhausting. I am a flight attendant on furlough working as a waitress.this last week my left hip pain has been horrible to the point of tears.along with that my feet have been swollen and the left one feels as though I cracked the bone on the outside but the next day feels better only to repeat the cycle everyday. I have also been so exhausted I fall asleep on the couch watching my favorite show. I sleep 8 hours a night have 2 cups of Java and fall asleep for another 2-4 hours of dead sleep. I am wondering if I may actually have lupus I am on 400mg gabapentin and cymbalta 60 Mg.I stopped amyttiptaline after having anger issues. Pains include hip buttocks and leg pain foot and lower back all on left side.numbing. of hands both sides. Neck and shoulder pain. Foods trigger flu like pain.eyesight changes.skin and heir changes . IBS and bloating. Insomnia and extreme fatigue.leg cramps. In extreme. Cold temps my toes and fingertips turn white and loose feeling. Migraines with nausea and light sensitivity.

Hi I'm also new to the site so I'm reading as much as I can to "catch up". Notagain has named some of my symptoms, but I have the opposite sleep problem; I can't sleep without meds. I'm commenting on your post because I haven't seen these particular symptoms in any of the other posts I've read. I have had multiple symptoms for years including all the ones you named and many more. I discovered a topical drug for the hip/leg pain that was like a miracle drug for me. My pain goes from my waist down my hip, bottocks, back of my thigh, down my calf to my foot in my left leg. I had some injections but they didn't last long and you can't get them forever. When my Rheumatologist gave me a sample of a topical drug I didn't think it would work but tried it. It was like a miracle drug. Valteral Gel is supposed to be applied 4X a day but after using it 2X a day for a few months I now only use it at bedtime. I also learned that this pain is caused by a band of muscles and/or (? brain fog) ligments that run down the outside of my leg. A sports Dr. told me that not many doctors recognize that this kind of pain can come from the long band that goes from the outer waist down the hip, buttocks, thigh and lower leg and into the foot. It's all connected. It's a kind of bursitis, but no one I've talked with who has been diagnosed with bursitis has been told this or given Valteran. Most get injections. My fingers also get very white. Sometimes it's just a couple of fingers on one hand and sometimes it's a bunch on both hands. This is most often a circulatory problem called rahynoid (sp? brain fog) Pronounced "ray-noi". My medical background makes me wonder if there are spasms in the nerves that cause the vessles to contract and close but have never thought to ask my Dr. There's usually no need for diagnostic tests for this because it's fairly common and easily recognized. I have it year round; not just in cold weather. Back when I was able to go grocery shopping; after I'd been in the store for a while with my hands on the buggy bar my fingers would get white and numb. Sometimes now they even turn purple which is a little disturbing because I wonder if the feeling is going to come back or if the circulation has been cut off forever. I also have migraines and am sensitive to light and noise, which by the way are common symptoms of fibromyalgia. I could go on for hours about all my symptoms, but I've said enough. Thank you to all who write on this site. It's wonderful to finally find a good source of knowlege and support.

Hello there, notagain...welcome! I'm sorry you're having so much pain. I have sciatica from a disc problem, as Kaely mentioned, so that would be where I'd start investigating. What livinginthepresent mentioned was interesting, too, the bands of muscle running down all the way from the hip to the foot.

Hi there. I am new here, too. One of my most painful symptoms is my hip pain. It started after my hysterectomy. If you google Hip pain after hysterectomy, you'll pull a ton of articles and discussions about it. It is very common. Some attribute it to the position during surgery. Others, to tears and nerve damage. I am unable to sleep on my side for more than one hour at a time. I have to switch a lot a night. Both hips cause extreme pain when I bear weight on them or walk a lot. I have not found a solution and my research so far has not come up with any surgery or treatment that is effective. It's a shame that so many women are not informed of the horrible after-effects of hysterectomy. The is also a lot of info on the HERS website. I have stage IV Endo, so that can cause hip pain as well. However, my hip pain was next to nothing compared to before my hysterectomy. So sorry you are in pain. I have only managed mine with pain medication and stretching. Hot Epsom salts baths in the night help when I am having a really bad night.

Hi, and welcome!  I would suggest that you see a rheumatologist...one who believes in fibromyalgia.  Be sure to ask if they treat fibro patients before you make your appointment.  They would do a work-up on you and see what is happening. 

 

I had terrible hip and leg pain this winter, saw a rheumy, and now I'm 100% better.  So do get checked out.  We are not doctors here so we don't really know anymore than you do.  I wish you luck in finding out the source of your pain.
