Having tremors. Has anyone else had these during a flare up?

I am experiencing a fibro flare up today. I am fairly new to them as I have been diagnosed about 2 years ago. I woke up with my usual pain issues but I also woke up with a migraine like headache behind my head and neck region. I take oxycontin and Percocet for my chronic pain issues. But I notice that I am having tremors of my arms and legs. As anyone else experienced this with fibro? I spilled my coffee and nearly broke my coffee cup as I poured out the coffee into the cup.

 Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, Degenerative Disc Disease in lumbar spine, MRI confirmed bulging disc with L5-S1 large herniated disc with nerve root displaced. Bipolar II, Anxiety, and PTSD.

Hi Milly,

I'm new to this site but I have had tremors as you described as well and headache behind my head and neck region. My tremors seem to favor the left side of my body and I have a constant vibration that cant be seen but only felt from the inside in my left foot. My fm was just confirmed yesterday but I have been suffering from it for atleast 6 years, this past year being so bad that I resigned from my company and my husband is ready to walk out the door. If you find out any info on the tremors and if there are treatment options please let me know.. :(

I feel for you both. This has got to be tough. You must have googled this? I'm wondering if it's medication-related....

I had tremors & body jerking and it was associated w/ effexor and/or gabapentin. I stopped them becasue of side effects. I still have some jerking, but it doesn't happen often, not even daily any more.

It just so happens that I am on both of those medications. The tremors was more pronounced during the fibro flare. On occassion I will have some jerking of my extremities. When I took my pain pills, which are narcotics, they settled down a little bit as the day went down. I take my pain pills right away in the morning with my first cup of coffee.

I spoke to the PA today and she said that it could be that I am a little deydrated, She has seen it with effexor and gabapentin use.

I also have just recently started having tremors. But I have been on gabapentin for several years but I just started taking Cymbalta, I use to take effexor and I didn't have tremors then.

I still think they are a part of the fibro flare up. I do see some tremors during the daytime hours but not as evident as those that I had the morning of my flare up. They were very pronounced then. As I said I had trouble pouring my coffee that day. I don't on a "normal day" .

Hi Milly,

I have an idea for those headaches. Do you have a bed buddy? It is a fabric tube filled with rice or barley. You heat it in the microwave and wrap in a towel and place around your neck. I know that doesn't sound too good right now with this heat, but I have used them in the past and they worked fantastic. They carry them in the walmart pharmacy. I think it would help you a lot. And if you sew, you can make your own with a tube sock and rice. Fill it 3/4 of the way and sew the end or tie it off. But be sure to wrap in a towel before placing it around your neck.

I use to get a lot of shoulder pain and it worked fantastic.

It just hit me that yes, I do have jerking sometimes after I lie down at night, (mostly legs) since I've been on Gabapentin. It had stopped, but started up a little again since I raised the dosage. I started several meds at the same time when I ruptured a disc, so didn't know which was responsible.

Hmm I do I have a lot of jerking too I have a lot of pain in my legs at night.

My legs shake when I stand and walk uncontrollably and it causes my legs to hyperextended causing pain on backside of knee. Does anyone know what causes my legs to shake?
