I am finding that I am having difficulty working a full day. I work 8:30 -4:30 and start really feeling fatigued and having pain around 3. Does anyone have any advice about how/if I should ask my employer for more flexible hours? i am able to work from home. Any advice about how to deal with my limitations and my job?

This is all new to me. Until a few months ago my only limitation was my SVT and I have had that under control for 10 years. I am not used to this lack of energy and pain. I am having trouble coping. Help!

Can you talk to your doctor about some help to get you through your workday? I had to have more meds when I was working.

I hope you find what will work for you. If you can't get to feeling better and stronger, then maybe talk to your boss about shorter days. Will they (can they) do that for you?

I will talk to my Dr., I am worried that he will suggest I use vicodin again, but I don't want to feel drugged and the vicodin doesn't exactly help the fatigue. I am getting some relief with Lyrica, but I can tell when I overdo it. The pain flares up and my fatigue increases.

I could possibly work out a schedule where I can work from home certain afternoons which would help because I could rest, work a little, rest, etc. until I get the work done.

Add girl- best med that helps the pain and doesn't mess with you feeling sedated is subutex. I have good pain control and I don't have those huge dips of breakthrough pain. It's worth trying. I think I would talk with with your Dr. about work and talk with your employer. I wasn't sure if your work place has FMLA? The subutex is so unique made that is helps your pain, but you don't get that sedated or high feeling. It's still a scheduled narcotic and very strong.
