"In the US....as far as Social Security Disability...you can't apply until you have been out of work for a year if I'm not mistaken."
From what I have read, you have to be in position where you can not work for 12 months from date of onset of disability.
I had to quit work after my recent heart attack, stroke and seizures. I was thinking about applying for temp disability but dh and i discussed it and I will prob never be able to go back to work.
I was already limited to 6 hrs a day at the medical call center I worked at. I have fibro, diabetes and am in pain every day.
I was on disability before due to bad ankle which limits my walking and has messed up my back. I was denied at first then worked with at lawyer and was approved. I went to vocational rehab and went to college and started working again. So I no longer had ssi.
I am sure i will be turned down, so I know it will be a drawn out procedure. Money situation is going to be hard down to 1 income again. Hate it.
I agree with momto6. have your levels checked esp with the magnesium. I am telling everyone this. mine was so low they think it was what caused my heart attack and stroke. Take a deep breath and take time to make sure you fill out paperwork the best you can
good luck
