Hey all! My doctor has tried me on SSRI's (didn't work) and now I'm taking an SNRI (also not working) for the pain. I'm making an appointment next week to go back, but I was wondering what the next step is when antidepressants don't work. Thanks!

Theres lots of things to try, could get expensive, can you ask for samples? Do you see a pain doc or rhumey? That can make a difference too. Have you had your vit. levels checked? Read Fibro 101, that may give you some ideas too.

Yes, I go to a Rheumy. They've done lots of blood work, mostly for autoimmune because my hair is also falling out. All of that came back ok, but I don't think they checked vitamin levels. I might ask about
that.

Hi Morgan,
I was tried on several antipressants for pain and none of them helped me. They just caused me side effects. But we are all different.
You might want to try what I do. Have you ever heard of mood foods? What we eat greatly affects how we feel and how we deal with others.
I've heard exercise can be the best remedy for depression. Try going for a daily walk and release those feel good hormones called endorphins. If you have fibromyalgia do daily stretches to help the tightness.
When we're feeling very poorly of course we're going to feel sadder than usual. So I believe we need to do the best we can for ourselves naturally to try to combat this.
Good luck to you.
