A Fibrofog Moment

Doing laundry with you would be fruitless. You can't get the clothes in the washer, and I seem to forget to add the clothes to my dryer sheet in the dryer.

Last week I washed a king sized comforter in about an inch of water.  I forgot the machine has water level settings?  I listened to it scream for mercy...sounded like a bowling ball rolling around in an empty dumpster.  I STILL didn't get it...

I tend to forget where I'm going...or get there and wonder why I'm there.

We really shouldn't be in charge of the laundry, or shopping, or coooking, or ... !  

Last week I put the softener in the wash and the detergent in the softener slot, not once - but twice. I tell myself, there is too much stress here, but come on - twice. Good grief!

I turned on the microwave about a month ago, rushing to get the last minute things hot. I really rushed. I turned on the microwave, the next thing I know this terrible noise is coming from the microwave. I rushed over to see what was wrong and lo and behold, it was empty. The dish was still on the counter.  Imagine my surprise. lol

I generally will make up a list of things I need to get at the store - any store - not just groceries. My DH and I went to Lowe's for something, darned if either one of us could remember why we left our ac at home for iffy ac at Lowe's. We decided to wander the aisles a bit in hopes that we would remember why we came there. 3/4 of the store later, I remembered. Yay! Another blasted can of the same paint we used for most of the interior house trim. Shortly after we left the store, I remembered I put the 'list' in my left pants pocket, not my right pocket.  Pathetic. lol

I don't generally share these stories w/ others, but we're family. I know you all understand. lol

Oh Alice...going into a store and forgetting why you are there is so embarrassing.  I was standing in the canned veggie aisle just staring into space, trying to recall what on earth I was supposed to buy...an elderly lady came up to me and said:  Is there anything I can help you find, DEARIE?"  Dearie. I think that was the defining moment for me, like I had escaped from the Home.  I never did remember what I was in the store for and went home where I found canned yams in a baking dish.  I went in there for brown sugar.

I never forget to put the food in the microwave.  I just forget to turn it on.  Then, when I go to get it out for dinner, it's raw.   Just love that. 

 

I make lists and put them in the same place...every time.  If not, I can never find them.  I never procastinate about putting my lists where they belong.  It saves me a lot of time and energy this way.

Imagine my delight, after driving for an hour to a doctor's appointment, for him to say, "You're not suppose to be here until tomorrow. Do you think you could come back?"

Lololol... these are really funny cause they are all of us. Standing in the isle wondering why you went to the store can be so frustrating, but I have out done myself again , I called a friend (thank goodness it was a friend) they said hello and and I blank and think to myself OMG! Who did I call.... WOW even for me that's bad, so I have no clue who I called, the voice didn't do it for me so I say who is this? And get really Dorthi? You called me, still blank so they say who they are and then I am like oh yeah wheeeewwww ! Oh crap ummm I have no clue why I was calling you. So we chat a bit and laugh doesn't come back to me why I called her, so we hang up and wouldn't you know it comes to me ! So then I call back she is laughing and I hurry up and say why I am calling before I go blank! And I am responsible for children! LOL

I have a big calendar on my desk, and everyone knows if it isn't in there then it won't happen, and sticky notes on the PC! Although by the time e I get from the kitchen to the sticky note I have no clue what I was putting on the list
