Well.... saw the new pain doctor today. First impressions should have told me to walk out, but I stayed. Appt was scheduled for 10:30, I showed up at 10:15 to do any paperwork. At 11:30, I'm still sitting in the waiting room.
Finally get taken back at 11:50. Doctor comes in and woah Nellie, he is YOUNG and kinda cute, so that made up instantly for the long wait time. LOL (sorry, but I have to find humor in something!) Went over my history, chatted a while then he started the exam. I swear he was using a spiked ball and not his fingers to touch trigger points. I screamed, I cried, I flinched away each time. After that, he sat back in his chair and said that fibro is a MENTAL disorder that masks mental trauma or issues.
I was shocked!! I told him that he was HIGHLY MISTAKEN, grabbed my purse and left without another word.
As soon as I got in the car, I called my rheumy and cried to the nurse about
it. She was SO sweet and apologized over and again about
my experience. She had the rheumy call me back. He said he is not happy about
my experience and he admitted that this guy is a new pain doctor who is just recently started referring patients to. He said he will not be sending any others his way. I see rheumy Friday and he said he will handle my pain issues himself, rather than trying a pain specialist again. I have said it a million times in daily life, I absolutely LOVE my rheumy! So.... Friday I'll be getting everything taken care of. Yay!!!
