Disability

This is now my second attempt on my own to acquire disability for Fibromyalgia, sciatic nerve pain and Limpoma tumors on my spine. SSA says I can still work. I have now turned to the professionals (Law Firm) for help. I know for myself, with the pain I have, the drugs I take for pain, I can't work. Please share your experience, strength and hope. My money is dwindling and my marriage is strained. I haven't worked since December 2011. I need prayers and hope.

Izzy- most people get turned down on that first application as you know. I know how you feel when you are unable to work and your husband is barking at you. I can remember him yelling at me. I was turned down on my first run also. I felt like I didn't know what I was doing. I didn't even know I could get a lawyer. So I went back to work for 2 years. I survived on FMLA and literally in the bed when I wasn't working. My body finally could not take no more. I was admitted in the hospital with severe depression, seizures and other medical problems. I was able to talk and vent to my psychologist about my health. He decided it was time to stop work and go on disability. I was very blessed because my job had short term and I applied for long term. Even after all that my husband was so upset with me. He screamed at me saying we will lose our house and our car. So I do know how you feel.

Guess what I never lost anything. While I was waiting to hear from social security my work disability paid me. I got my social security in 9 months and I still get my long term disability with it. I know it's scary to wait, especially if you have a husband stressing you out. What can you do if you can't work? I know when I gave in the first time it was hell going back to work.

I am sorry you are going through this. I just know it's all worth it if you can wait and retry again. My health has improved by leaps. It has taken a few years to some recovery. I will keep you in my thoughts.

I got my SSDI the first time around. I followed the advice of a social worker who said to get a calendar book and document every doctor's visit and the results of the visit. This will help you in your recall of the dates and the important information needed for the Socail Security Admin. I have other conditions other than fibro. So that was probably why I got it the first time around. I am sorry you are going through the rough time that you are. I went through so much worry about making payments and living my life being disabled. I know it is hard waiting. I hope it gets better for you.
