Does anyone else wake up in the middle of the night with all of their muscles tightened. Yesterday I was feeling horrible so I laid down to take a nap and woke up in the middle with every muscle tightned. My body was so over sensitive and it was like all my muscles were being tighted. My legs were so tight that my knees were bent and the same with my elbows. This is not the first encounter with this, but I was just wondering if any of my fellow fibroer have experienced this aweful thing?

Hi there,
I know that I do that. I wake up to find that I have clenched my mouth so hard that I am so sore. My knees, shoulders and neck also hurt because I tense myself up. I also find that my skin is supersensitive as well. I cannot wear spaghetti straps anymore to bed and my hair hurts my face when it rubs against it.
Aren't the quirks fun...
Hope that helps

Yes I have also. The other day had a bad day, and that night the touch of the sheets felt like needles poking me and one of the worst cases yet!
Oh and my elbow does that when I am awake also if I sit a while

I had that until I was put on Robaxin...a muscle relaxer. Now I am sleeping so much better. The pain and tightness woke me up 4-5 times a night before the muscle relaxer. Now I only get up once to use the bathroom. What a difference! And the fact that I'm sleeping better has helped with the pain, too.

DestituteYouth,
I get that if I overdo, if I don't do enough, or if I eat something that I'm sensitive to during that day. I call it my "feeling inflammed." It can be very difficult for me to fall back asleep. That's one reason I love my sleep supplements because I can take more during the night if I need to.
Good luck to you.

My muscles have got so much better now. I sleep with my heating blanket on fairly high. It relaxes my muscles so much. If you think you might get too hot in the summer turn a fan on you or air condition. I get my tight muscles sitting in a chair to long.
