I move even when I feel like a rock. Sometimes that means I go walking-- slow and steady, sometimes it means I stretch, other times it means I roll around on the floor doing twisting back stretches-- my kids think I'm crazy most of the time. That helps a lot, and I also take time to my self. Sit in a darkened room for 10 minutes-- 1 min to focus on the areas of pain, and 9 thinking only positive thoughts. I don't know why, but it seems to help my mental condition in the middle of a flare. Staying mentally on top of it helps me more than anything physical could.
