I agree strongly with Jen. I had a doctor diagnose me with it after sitting in a room with me for 30 sec.s and asking questions like ... Have I ever done something that I knew was wrond and did it anyway.... uhm ever/... yeah. Have I ever bought something when shopping and later wonder why .... uhm I am woman ... of course I have. I was slapped with diagnosis and I took lamictal. I noticed very few side effects. I tried to learn about it and see how it fit me. After being offf of the lamictal for over a year, I made an appointment with a well accredited dr. who specialized in that area. After seeing her for a few months, she said that there was no way I was bipolar. That it was simply impossible. That was over ten years ago. I have struggled with fibro for a couple of years now and I have never felt so on the edge of insanity. Fibro is hell in so many ways and no one can really understand them all. If depakote works for you and is safe for you then maybe it is right for you, just make sure your doctor is right for you. Do you have to get blood work every six months or so to monitor your kidneys or liver? That was a biggie for my lamictal....but the doctor never did.
