Hi Linnikay...Sorry to hear of your issues:(
I haven't had insurance in about
6 years so I feel your pain!!
For energy, I make sure I go on a daily walk...and unless it's a terrible downpour...I do this 7 days a week. It makes a big deal not only in my pain levels (stiffness) but my energy levels.
I also get up each morning and do light stretching/yoga and then have a cup or two of coffee. The rest of the day I drink water....about
12 cups a day. Believe it or not, many people are dehydrated and they don't realize how much that contributes to fatigue levels.
If for some reason I have an especially tiring day...about
3 or 4 o'clock I will have some green iced tea. This has a good boost of energy but not where it's too much caffeine that has you crashing down later.
I also switched to eating all organic about
2 and 1/2 years ago. I'm not a vegan/vegetarian, but I do limit any meat to once a week. I eat lots of fish as well. But with weeding out all the artificial perservatives, artifical colorings, and all the "junk" that makes things survive a nuclear blast...LOL...this has really boosted my energy levels as well as my digestion...Which used to make me feel sluggish.
I am on food stamps at $200 a month and with using coupons and shopping on double coupon day...I have no problem shopping all organic with this budget. Many regular stores now have their own version.
So...all these are things I do naturally. My one medication that I get that is generic and pretty cheap though is Ambien. I was put on this after my last fusion surgery and have to say that it's made a monumental difference to get a decent night's sleep.
Obviously there are many other natural ways to help sleep and a prescript
ion sleep aid is a last resort. The natural way is with melatonin, making sure the room is 68 degrees or less, make sure every single light is off even the computer or cell phone charger.
And then I have been using audible to "listen" to all my favorite books. I fall asleep so much easier and faster with all the lights off and listening to a book with my eyes closed than I ever did with the TV.
So...just some thoughts for you:)
