I have looked into lyrica but I am also on prednisone that has made me gain weight and I'm sick of the weight. It makes me feel like complete crap. I went from being 5'7" and 130 to 5'7" and 170... I know it's not that much weight but I am covered in stretch marks and I feel unbelievably unattractive. I just want something that will help treat my pain but not make me gain anymore weight.
Please help!

I am in the same boat. I have tried to change meds around with no luck. The only answer is get a gym pass for me. I am looking forward to it, but I have no choice. I feel the same way as you describe.

Earthing changed my life. I know many people haven't heard about
it. My doctor gave me a book about
it. After earthing for 5 weeks (I earth for an hour a day for the past 5 weeks and just started sleeping grounded last week), I am pain free and I sleep through the night. I have been been off my meds completely for 3 weeks now. I am not sure if this is the kind of suggestion you wanted, but it helped me. And there is no risk of gaining weight just by going barefoot outside : )

I use malic acid/magnesium supplements, vitamin D3 supplements, ibuprofen with food, extra strength Tylenol, and a muscle relaxer called Robaxin to help with my pain and fatigue. I also do daily stretching exercises, walk daily (swimming and yoga are good, too) and pace myself. Doing all of the above has helped me be in control of my pain. Hope this helps.

It IS too much weight if you ask me, I don't think it's superficial or something it's an important factor in your life... I gained 30 pounds just because of depression and i felt waay worse ironically. It SUCKS. I was able to lose most of it while on cymbalta (and have now gained 10 back on wellbutrin which is okay...) but I've heard of many people that went on cymbalta and gained a lot of weight. It didn't rly affect my metabolism personally but it certainly can- everyone's exp is different.
And btw I switched off of cymbalta because it didn't help my physical pain at all and the doctor thought it wasn't helping my depression, just sort of making me manic sometimes, idk.
I know cymbalta has worked for many people and not for others didn't make me gain weight but it has for others lol :(. Good luck

My savella has decreased my appetite, allows me to be a little more active (mainly house work) and I have lost 16 pds since March

If you aren't already, maybe trying to help yourself naturally without the use of medications might help?
