I get numbness in various parts of my body

the most troublesome is the legs and feet.

It seems the worst when i sit for awhile then stand

i could be driving or sitting at my desk, then i get up to stand or walk and feel numbness, feelings of feet falling asleep, and of course, pain.

It also accurs while sitting.

it seems difficult to walk when this happens.

How common is this among FM folks?

I have numbness in my right foot and sometimes sciatica numbing pain down my right leg. It always starts after sitting awhile. I can barely walk after I have been sitting. After three years and numerous doctors, we have come to the conclusion that its L4-L5 impringement of the spine (spinal stenosis) so I am probably gonna have surgery. So I don't know if the fibromyalgia has anything to do with it.

I use to blame all the numbness on my 3 level fusion. After reading and hearing stories about it, I decided it's mostly fibro related. I am so use to it by now. Lol.

jc77: I get the same as you, and it has been worse this Fall, for some reason. I am awaiting results of blood tests and will keep you posted. Best wishes.

UPDATE:  Blood tests are normal, but my blood is just a little low.  Now what?  Just wondering what is causing the weird sensations in my feet and legs.

My legs, feet and toes go numb at least twice a week. I have a hard time walking and I become fidgety. I am uncomfortable standing or sitting for more than a minute. So I get up and sit down, I shift from left foot to right foot. It is weird because it is numb in some places and yet very painful. But my partner has figured out how to work it out. He knows just where to put pressure and he helps me twist my legs from side to side and then he applies pressure. My back will usually pop a few times and then the pain and numbness are gone. This is a routine we go through 2-3 times a week. But it takes him less than 10 minutes.

Yep it's FM I started with these symptoms three years ago it started while I was driving long distances and my legs felt like they were going into a charlie horse and slowly has gotten worse from there. Sorry your going through the same thing and that it is so common, unfortunately I have not found anything to relieve the symptoms yet.

I have the same but without the pain. The neuro is sending me for a second opinion and a spinal tap. Mine is left side dominant and extends from my face to my toes. Good luck!

Yep me too, numbness, in my feet, and tingling in my feet. My hands used to, but haven't since the meds got in my system that I can remember :-). Hahaha so with my brain fog who knows :-) but my feet are when sitting, like now it tingles, and sometimes when asleep in bed

Oh bummer, me too. Mostly in the left side - the back of my hand has a numb spot, and both feet are often tingly. Like right now . LOL.

Thank you all for your  quick replies!

I email my Neuro doc because Im concerned with MS

He says based on the tests ive had done it's highly unlikely that i have it. Statistically speaking.

He says that FMS and MS have similar symptoms.

He says that MS is a constant problem that doesnt vary like FMS does

If symptoms persist for several weeks at time and dont vary then i need to see him.

i will keep journaling my symptoms and look back to see how long they persist :-)
