Is lyrica making things worse?

I was tried on Lyrica and my pain increased. I wrote down in my log that I began only being able to sleep 4 to 5 hours at that time. I took myself off.

For some, these meds are a life-saver. For others, they don't work. For others still, they cause bad side effects.

All you can do is give them a try and see how you react to them. The side effects can go away after a period of time.

I did see the nurse practitioner I've been seeing at the clinic today because the pain has been so bad the last few days on the lyrica, I haven't been sleeping due to the pain, it's making work near impossible, when my average pain day was around a 4, a bad day being around a 5-6.5, the last few days have been a 9, everything, just sitting down on the hard toilet seat, the back of my thighs would shoot with pain, my bra's underwire... just everything, it was bad.
Anyways, the nurse prescribed me some Tramadol today, 50mlg 3 times a day, and after trying that for a week or two if nothing changes I can take up to 100mlg 3 times a day. I'm really hoping it works. I took one already, my pain is down around a 5, so not down to where I want it to be, but way better than a 9.

I could not take either Lyrica or Gabapentin.
The damage to my bladder was cumulative and the longer I was on the them, the more severe my symptoms became. I did not connect the dots either time for many weeks. I was housebound running to pee every 5 minutes and in pain and burning.
It took only a couple days after discontinuing them for my bladder to begin to repair itself.
Chemically induced interstitial cystitis is nasty.
And, I was on the lowest possible dose (100 mg) once daily -- if you can believe that.

I would say, if you are having side-effects of any kind, get off of it.
Your body is trying to tell you something.

Everyone is different some people can take Lyrica some not. I am a not, tried it and it was not for me.
