Please help ! I need any information i can get on winning my appeal with cpp disability, I am so lost , i am in constant pain to the point i can barely walk, what am i doing wrong ? why do they keep putting me off i have requested a call back for the last 4 weeks and no one has even so much as contacted by phone,mail email anything , is this a good thing or bad thing, i called today they said things were being processed , now does that mean another denial? i am so confused on how this works !

What is CCP? Insurance?

I had private disability insurance. I filed in July, but didn't get the approval until a week ago.
Call them and ask if they need any important paperwork from you or the doctors. I had several doctors who drug their feet about releasing my records to the company. That caused a major delay in the processing, but I did get backpay for it though.

What is cpp disability? Is it a long term insurance? I have both long term and disability. Just because you have long term doesn't mean they approve you. I know it's just not right because you pay for it. You have to be a very squeaky wheel if you want answer in a reasonable time. The papers the Dr's fill out. I make sure I am right there with them. I am the one that usually faxes it also. The Dr's forget sometimes your limitations and fill in the incorrect answer. Next thing you know they have all different answers and it makes them question your disability. Don't give up. These long term companies are looking for discrepancy in the questions they send your Dr. I have been receiving mine for 3 years.

It's a Canadian disability payment option we can apply for :) Have you tired checking out this website, it may help with some of your questions...sorry I don't have any answers for you however :( but I thought this website might be helpful

Hi I did not see you post here but saw the one in the chronic pain forum. It took me 4 years to finally get approved. How long have you been at them? Do you have doctors behind you? They have their unique way of handling applications.

I have only been dealing with them since Dec of last year , I was denied the first time and sent in again , this time armed with specialist , and 3 different doctors , I am dealing with so much I have had cat scans adn I am having another MRI next week , CPP did call me today finally after 3 weeks of requests to tell me that they are waiting for the specialist to send in her info and that was it , nothing else not any ETA nothing , she was kinda rude like i was inconvience , which kinda put me out a bit , but i dont want to be anything but respectfula nd nice to these people they hold my future in their hands wich i think is a scary situtaion :(

I was denied the first time I applied too (depression/anxiety).

I appealed and had my doctor write a letter detailing my situation, I had a psychiatrist also write a letter that stated in his opinion I would never be able to work full time. I also send in my attendance from the job I had left (that showed two sick leaves) AND a letter from when I was in grade 4 diagnosing me with depression. Any letters from doctors MUST state that your condition is prolonged and sever to meet the guidelines. Proof of
history backs up the prolonged and the doctor can judge the severe. Hope that helps!

I was also able to get the disability tax savings, PST back on gas and open an RDSP that gets government grants.

The wording for CPPD is the catch they gat to decide if you are capable of working. I had to go through review tribunal 2 times each one over 6 months apart. I hope you are prepared for what could be a lengthy wait.
