My eyes are dry and I don't see very well.  I use art. tears.  Temporary relief.

I have so many symptoms with this fibro I just can't take much more everyday there is something else.

My arms have pain running up and down and the hand and wrist pain are at times unbearable.

Well, I do have Blepharitis, which is an inflammation of the eyelids, and they feel dry and scratchy alot, and like there's something in them even when I can't find anything. This isn't constant, though. Is this similar to what you're experiencing?

And I need reading glasses more and more often, even though my eyes test just fine.

I know, it's hard - there really is always something else!

Yes, I have dry eyes. I tried restasis but I was allergic to it so I use Gel Tears.
The arm pain is normal, but not that severe for me. What kind of pain medicine do you take? I take tramadol and tylenol when the pain is bad. I also try hot showers, muscle rubs, volteran gel, and heating pad.

I have very dry eyes. My eye dr. tested them for moisture. I had 0 moisture he said. He wanted to do plugs to relieve the dry eyes. I was a little scared, so I use drops that tend to be thicker base. I use systane ultra and I buy them at Costco. They can be a little costly for a small bottle at the grocery store. You get 3 bottles at Costco for the same cost as one bottle at the store. I use them 2-3 times daily. It feels so good when I put them in. If I don't use them I get blurry vision and my eyes feel like they have sand in them.

I know the symptoms of fibro can be overwhelming at times. I wrote all my symptoms down. I know it's a page full. I started to treat each one. It didn't happen overnight, but I learned most of it from this forum. Some of the symptoms really have no treatment, but at least I knew it was fibro related. Once I got that down it made me realize that I wasn't crazy for having these symptoms. I accepted my fibro so much better. I use to think I could never get control of my health issues.

I am not pain free, but I have learned how to manage it better. Then when I do have a flare at least I know it shall pass soon. I hope I could help some. Remember your not alone.

I have dry eyes, they get dryer when I’m run down.
I also find that my vision drastically deteriorates when I’m rundown/tired. I wear glasses/contacts (contacts when I can stand them… not very often.) and I had two eyes tests this year. The first one when I was really sore, tired, and just generally feeling horrid, and then one when I was having an average day. My prescription was 3 steps higher on my bad day.
I was talking to the optometrist about it, and she said “People forget how many muscles are in the eyes.” We had a really good chat actually. She was saying how Fibro and CFS both attack ALL muscles, not just the obvious ones.
She suggested focusing on the eye exercises for the rest of the year, and then if I can’t close the gap between my good/bad days just getting two sets of glasses.

… I refuse to get two sets of glasses. I can’t keep track of the set I have.

My dry eye condition became much worse last summer. My fiance purchased a convertible and I didn't put two and two together for a while. The grit and dust coming from the open air driving made my eyes gritty and dry. I purchased wrap around sun glasses to try to keep the dust and grit out of my eyes. It helps some.

My optomitrist recommended I use refresh eye drops twice a day after pressing a warm wet cloth to my eyes for five minutes. The Refresh seemed to irritate the condition. So I'm using a drop that was recommended in this forum. Bauch and Loumb Soothe. It helps some. Being around cigarette smoke aggravates my eyes and pollution. My doctor diagnosed me with meibomian gland dysfunction. I guess it's something that needs to be kept an eye on.

There is a product called Restasis (sap) that is a prescription medication for dry eyes. It's made from cyclosporine. You would most likely need to see an opthamologist to get a correct diagnosis.

My dog had dry eye and was on cyclosporine drops all of her life. Because of this, she never lost her vision. Dry eye can harm your vision so I know I sure would be checked out about this.

I don't think this is a fibro thing. You possibly could have Sjogren's Syndrome. People with that have dry eyes and mouth. We do have a Sjogren forum here on HealingWell so you might want to go over there and check that out, too. No matter what, I suggest you see an eye specialist to really find out what is going on. Your vision is too precious to do guess work.

The plugs worked well forme. Also, systane. And, at night, a severe dry eye gel called.... Something or other. Both the systane and the gel are over the counter.

I think the gel is called Lacralub. BUT, please get checked out by an opthamologist. You can lose your vision over this....if it is dry eye.

I believe I have read that sjoren's syndrome is common in people with fibromyalgia.  It's an autoimmune syndrome where the moisture producing glands are not functioning properly. Maybe this can give you some info:  http://www.sjogrens.org/

I get terrible dry eye plus I have had issues with a corneal eruption in my left eye for over a year now.  Started with getting something metal like in my eye and it slightly tore the cornea.  Its healed now and doing so much better.  However my eye dr keeps track of me.  I use Systane gel drops during the day.  At night I use an eye cream called: Muro 128 by Bausch and Lomb.  It has helped me so much!

Hope you improve soon.  Have you seen an eye dr about it recently?

I have dry eyes. I got plugs several years ago, but they have not helped very much. I use eye drops when they are bothering the most.
