nerve pain with fms

I know fms causes us to have different types of pains.

Muscle pain, joint pain,etc.

I experience also, nerve pain, in the face, head, legs and arms etc.

Sometimes the pain shoots from my back down to my legs and feet, but i know its not sciatica.

and then of course, numbness in the extremities espcially legs and feet.

Nerve pain normal part of fms? smilewinkgrin

I'd be concerned about nerve pain in the face. I know we all have different problems but that doesn't sound good to me. Have you discussed the nerve pain with your dr?
I get numbness and tingling sometimes. I mostly experience lots of muscle pain and exhaustion while completing simple tasks. Showering can wear me out to the point where I need to sit down.
Anytime you aren't sure a pain or other symptom is fibro related I'd recommend discussing it with your dr. I think it's easy for us to just "suffer through" because we assume its always fibro but its better careful than sorry.

The nerve pain that you might be experiencing is related to myofascial pain. I had extreme pain that started last February and it would shoot down my limbs causing numbness and pins and needles. At times I felt electrical shocks. When I saw a neurologist he diagnosed me with myofascial pain syndrome. Many people who have fibro have this too. I hope you figure out what it is. I know it's tough having fibro with all these many symptoms we get and don't know if it'll something more.

Just wondering...how do you know it's not sciatica that  is running down your legs?  I have a back condition that is related to rheumatoid arthritis where my entire back and neck hurts AND I have sciatic pain involved, too.  I was thoroughly checked out when I started having excessive pain.  I was blaming the pain on fibro for quite a few months but then it was getting so bad I headed to a rheumy and discovered I had yet another health problem.

 

Not everything is caused by fibromyalgia.  We get some weird things but that type of pain, especially the facial pain, needs to be investigated by a good, board certified doctor.

im seeing my neuro doc later this month.

Ive explained my nerve pain and numbness in my legs and feet to my Neurologist before. he did believe it was pinched nerves.

as far as sciatica, i dont have extreame low back pain, other that fms aches and pains that vary. I also dont have pain when i do straight leg raises, but... I will still mention it .

I am going to resquest an mri of the lumbar spine to see if that shows anything. I hope he will order me one.

The nerve pain i get in my face, head and various parts of the body, i will mention also. I'm sure i mentioned it before but i havent seen him in awhile so well see.

ive believed for a long time that this is all fms related. I have a long list of symptoms. But im very anxious at times because as much as i want to belive thats all it is, I just dont buy it sometimes.

Hopefully FMS is all I have
