Lately the main pain that I have been struggling with is this extreme pain/tightness/stiffness of my shoulders, neck, clavicle area and it wraps around my shoulders all the way around the joints into my armpit. That's where the focus of the pain and tightness is, but the pain shoots down both arms and then intensifies around my elbow joints then down my forearms and hurts more around my wrists and my hands around the web part of my hand. I was just wondering if this sounds like problems anyone else has? I'm still skeptical whether or not I have Fibro. I'm just trying to figure this all out. Thanks.

Have you talked to a doctor about your symptoms?
Fibro likes to play sneak attacks with most of us. Me in particular.
I never know what it will hit on me. Tonight it's gnawing on my ankle and fingers.
You need to rule everything out before they say Fibro. It took me a full year of pain before I was told I had fibro.

Hi, lOnegirlarmy, and welcome! I have had somewhat similar symptoms. I couldn't raise my left arm even as high as my head and I couldn't reach behind me and touch my waist with my left arm. I turned out to be rotor cuff problems. I did physical therapy for about a month and it's much better now. You might want to let your doctor know exactly what you told us and he can check to see if that is the problem.
Be sure to read Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.

That is like mine too. And I know I have rotorcuff problems. But I think it is from fibromyalgia. My neck, shoulders and arms hurt. And hips and knees. I guess I hurt all over. Fibromyalgia stinks. I can feel where you are coming from...
I hope that you feel better soon!
Hugs, Karen

I really don't have a set doctor due to the fact that I don't have insurance. I have a clinic I go to when I really need to. The massage therapist that I have been going to said that it feels like all my muscles in my shoulder area feel like they're all torn up. It doesn't make much sense to me though, because I haven't been doing anything to cause that to happen. The pains feel like a heart attack symptoms or something, but I've had EKGs twice in the past few months. They said everything looks fine. Thank you for your help and encouragement.

I have extreme pain in my arms right between the shoulder and the elbow. I have it so much so that I cannot lie on either side for too long.
Above the armpit, in the front, is a connection point that gets very tight. I find that massaging that myself loosens things up a bit.

I have shoulder pain, but like others I have tears in my rotator cuff. It may be worth getting an X-ray. It could be muscles, but its important with rotator cuff that you not perform certain movements that could make it worse. Good luck.
