Prednisone side effects HELP!!!

Hi to everyone, I had been sick with a cold which then turned into a sinus infection and bronchitis. I was put on an antibiotic and prednisone for both. After 3 days of taking the prednisone I have noticed that my anxiety level is through the roof. I already have problems with anxiety as it is. I don't know if this is a normal side effect of the medicine or not all I know is that I feel horrible. I am also having a flare up today which is making today one of the worst I have had in a while. I don't know if anyone else has been through this or not but could use some advice on what to do. I was put on 10 mg of prednisone and finished yesterday but the adverse reaction I seem to be having is still there help

I hate when drs say things like this. Here is 1 thing i found

I've had to take Prednisone for Crohn's and for my hearing impairment.  I do not like the drug and it makes me very hyper.  When I was taking it for my hearing impairment (autoimmune inner ear disease) they had me on 80 mg a day for a month!    The first couple of days I felt full of energy and literally landscaped my front yard.  After a couple of weeks I was flat on my back catching every illness that came down the pike.  My immune system was shutting down from this drug.  I also looked like the Pillsbury Doughboy, too.  It took me four months to wean off this amount of Prednisone.

 

Now, there are Prednisone dose packs and I hope that is what you were on.  It does gradually lessen the amount you are taking, I believe.  If you aren't taking it anymore, give it a day or two more to get out of your system.  You should be fine.  Try not to freak out over it.  I think your worrying about it is causing your anxiety to kick in, too.  Relax.
