I won't take Humira or Remicade infusions. The side effects can be pretty bad. It would have to be a last resort for me but do check them out. We all have to make our own decisions. My family health history, along with my health history, makes these drugs a negative for me and could be dangerous. My rheumy suggested them and my Internist agrees with ME!
Are you sure the sulfa drug did this to you or perhaps you have some kind of bug going around. I used Azulfidine, which is a sulfa drug, for years with no problems. Another medication that really helped me was called Librax. It relaxes the intestines. I did really watch what I ate. I was not to eat any fresh fruits and veggies unless they were cooked very soft. Canned junk was fine. No tomatoes or spicy foods either. I really missed salad for many years. Once I had my colon taken out, I could eat just about anything again. I had been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis for 11 years before the Crohn's diagnosis. That's because is centered in my colon and just a little in my small intestines. The surgeon called it Crohn's colitis.
Do feel better. I know you are trying. Here is a great recipe for nausea that I've used for over 30 years.
You may want to try the "recipe" below. This was give to me years ago and it has worked great for vomiting for my family. It seems to settle the stomach and keeps you from becoming dehydrated. My adult children still use it!
For Nausea and Vomiting
1/2 Cup Gingerale
1/2 Cup Orange Juice
1 Tablespoon Karo Syrup (Light or Dark)
Mix together and give one tablespoon every ten minutes for six doses (if needed). Then give every 20 minutes until 2-3 doses are retained and nausea stops.
My kids continued to sip on it because it tasted so good to them! Hope this helps.
