Tingling in legs and vertigo?

Hi
Today i woke up with a bout of vertigo, or more like feeling unbalanced and light headed, when i walked from the parking lot to my office ( about 7 min) my legs got all tingly and heavy and my knee felt like it was all tied up, is this normal ? Do any of u get it?

Sorry you are feeling like this, but yes...

I have been going thru something like that for almost 2 months now, I have an appt today with an orthopedic to see if there are pinched nerves in my back or neck, or whatever...
I was hospitalized in February and kept telling them I felt like I was drunk! Not dizzy, but that feeling you get when you have been drinking and stand up, then realize you are HAMMERED..and the further I walk, the more I feel like I am going to pass out, or my legs are going to go out from under me.. totally frustrating!!

My neurologist examined me and said he couldn't see any pinched nerves, however the xray showed that the vertabaes are not aligned and i had a disc before so it might not be pinched but just inflammed, i was thinking if this could be due to fibro and he said it might coz symptoms differ from one person to another. Good luck with ur appointment :))

Reemag, go into Fibro 101 and check out the list of possible symptoms.  Both the tingling and the vertigo/dizziness can be symptoms of fibro.  Also check out the rest of Fibro 101.  There is a lot of good info there and it could ease some of your fears.

 

I'm sorry you worried when no one posted but your post came at 3:41 AM in the US and most of us are from the US so we were getting a little shut eye!  smilewinkgrin

Well, the ortho wasn't much help, just sent me for therapy.. So, we shall see
I go to the neurologist in a couple of weeks, I hope that goes better :)
All I can tell you, is that hot baths help me..and not laying on my back or right side..other than that..nothing helps. Sorry I couldn't be of more help..hope you feel better soon!

Just a lil input for dealing with vertigo... Go on YouTube and search "Epley maneuver"... It really works. It tells you that after you're finished doing the maneuver to stay upright for 48 hours, but I didn't do that. I did the maneuver and that was it. The first time I did it I had dealt with vertigo for almost 2 months and was about to lose my mind. Went to a family get together and was telling my cousins that are nurses what I was going through. They said they had both had that problem before and their Dr performed the maneuver on them and it worked. I went home and immediately looked it up and did it. I felt a good bit of relief but it wasn't completely gone. Waited 1 week and then did it again and it was totally gone. about a month ago it came back again after being gone about a year. I immediately did the maneuver and it went away.

Mrsbugzy, therapy in my case aggravated matters hope it works for u. I also find it difficult to sleep on my right side, it usually triggers a migraine, but lying on my back with sth tucked under my neck usually soothes me.
Sherrine, will keep that in mind next time :) i did read the post but the problem is most of the symptoms are similar to those of MS and this keeps me worried.
Ill def try this maneuver kimmy, the feeling of being light headed and unbalanced is really irritating specially when it is day on day off.
I think that this time of year is also a trigger for a flare.

I had the battle with Vertigo.(still have a tiny bit when I stand to quickly)
It came out of nowhere and my legs felt like Jello.(this was after getting my neck adjusted at the chiropractor).
My blood pressure shot up to 200/108.I went to the er and they didn't have ANY answers.
I ended up going to therapy and having a maneuver done to get rid of the vertigo.
I can tell you the first time was pure hell.I felt sooo sick.But after the 2nd time felt so much better.
Im not sure if this is the same but wanted to give my input on it. I thought I was having a stroke it was scary!

Hi Reemag, I'm not sure if my problem is the same as yours but I do know explaining new feelings are so difficult. I have had what I call woozy rather than dizzy for 6 years now and it is every minute of every day and I do not know from hour to hour how severe it will be. I have mri's, mra's, ct scans and they are all negative. Recently I started having vibrations in both legs from my knees down. It gets so severe that it wakes me up. I am a poor sleeper and waking up just men's the day is much longer then my already long day. The last month I have started getting the vibration feelings in my arms but not necessarily at the same times as my legs. My newest is now my chest area. I recently had an echo cardiogram and the Dr. said I was going to dieoif something just not my heart because it was so strong and he could tell that I had been very athletic. So although I do not worry as much about the vibrations as the wooziness is disabling. I am now recently realizing that the vibrations in my body is really the same as the woozy/vibrations in my head only the vibrations is making me woozy. I had a neurologist glare at me in wonderment. It is the fourth Neuro I have gone to. I am waiting for eeg results to come back. I will definetly post when I find out more information. Hoping the best for you. Please post with updates.

Wow, Dizzygoround...don't you love it when doctors blame you because they can't figure you out?!

I have a lot of dizziness and vibrating sensations, too. And I hate it!

So much comes and goes with Fibro that it makes it really hard to know when to chalk it up to that, and when to start thinking there's another cause.

One thing for sure, I'm ALWAYS aware of my body. It never just feels like nothing - neutral. There's always something going on, something painful :( or disturbing :( or in some way negative. We just have to weigh the odds of each symptom being something to worry about - and if it is, get it checked out. And if it isn't, try to ignore it.

This comes with time, and it never gets easy, but it does get easiER. We learn to separate the important from the not. Mostly, anyway.

Experiment with yourself. If this is the case, see if skipping morning caffiene and/or sugar and eating a nutritious breakfast helps you feel better.

I feel the same way about always being aware of my body symptoms! I am very hyperaware and sometimes wish I wasn't so much because I also worry a lot that something else is going on with these symptoms. Lately it's been the tingling sensations which have been almost constant. Very annoying! So of course I'm starting to convince myself I have MS :( Grrrr, it never ends!
