Ideas to save a little (or a lot) of money

Since I don't work anymore I have learned many ways to save money. We have Costco in my area and we are a big meat eaters. We have a meal saver that we use on our freezer foods. We buy the meat in several pounds and divide it in the amount I like to use for my recipes.
We even put our fresh fish we caught up in meal saver. I don't have to buy too much at the regular grocery store.

I don't buy on impulse either. If I think I want it, I usually wait and see if the desire goes away. Most of the time it does.

I cut down on gifts that I buy for friends and baby showers. My immediate family is who I buy for.

I don't work and go out as much, so I don't need several pants, shirts and etc.

One way I save on gifts is to buy them at the end of season, and I keep a box in my closet for those last minute invites...

Like Easter jsut passed, so I got some stuff at 90% off, and I boxed it for next year. We host the family Easter party, so I have a box of cool toys that will be prizes in the egg hunt :)

When we had a hallmark store (miss that terribly!) I would always hit up their clearance after holiday sale, I ended up getting these awesome stuffed animals for $2 a piece, they were ducks that when you tickled them they laughed and kicked their feet and waved their wings...I gave them out for shower presents..

My daughter often raids my box for her friends..

and for "gift bags", I ran into a friend who was complaining she had a TON of bags from those "gift with purchase" sales at cosmetics counters..(I also get them cheap at garage sales), she gave me 3 GARBAGE BAGS of them...then I put gifts in them so the receiver gets 2 gifts :) More people have been so excited, they started dong it!
