My eyes feel swollen often enough. I've only had my eyes checked once at the beginning of my FM symptoms (didn't know it was FM yet) when I kept having in and out blurry vision, 4 or so years ago. I remember it hurt to move my eyes for a while (but not recently). Also, after eating, I'd have immediate pressure on my eyes, as if they were being pushed out of my head, which I found weird. Today I have some extra floaters and I know my night vision isn't as good since having FM. I'm 31. But mostly my eye sight has remained the same.
Sometimes my eyes hurt when I don't get into deep sleep for whatever reason. I think that might affect my eyes feeling sore. (The deep stages of sleep help muscles recuperate, which should also include eye muscles). Another idea I had, was that if I'm not getting enough deep sleep, I might be getting a different ratio of REM sleep (just an idea) which might cause more rapid eye movement which might contribute to that sore tired eye feeling I have when I wake even after a long night of sleep. But this is all conjecture.
Ideas for improving it for me are: Eat natural. Eat healthy. (should reduce inflammation and should encourage restful sleep) Get good sleep. Sleep on a healthy consistent routine. Exercise lightly. The better balanced, the more healthy, the more the muscles should have a chance to rest. (My eyes feel swollen the most when I get into a flare)
