A little flat gingerale or 7-Up (stirred to remove the bubbles, then left to stand for a bit) usually helps me.
I also make my own ginger tea from gingerroot. I buy it in the produce section at Wal-mart. It's fairly easy to peel, then I cut it up in small pieces (one inch or less), after discarding the peel. I keep the pieces in a jar in the freezer, and just 'chisel out' a piece or two, which I put in a microwavable cup, add water, and microwave a couple of minutes. I should warn you, though, that it can be quite strong. If you're not feeling well, you may have to add more water.
