Mystupid right arm.its still acting up really bad with tingling cramping throughout the whole arm pain you name it. X rays were normal. Still getting a neck MRI nexr week. Just looking fir reassurance

What symptoms do you have in your arms? Are thry in both arms or just one? What had helped you? Im also a. Little iron deficient. Could that cause some arm symptoms?

Thsnks. Feeling very down and discouraged today :( taking advil but uts not helping. shakehead any input is appreciated

Hi Nal, My right hand up into my arm started hurting yesterday and got worse all day . It woke me all thru the night hurting and cramping so bad. My ribs are hurting also feels like they are broke! I had a very painf night trying to sleep. Sometimes my arms tingle , sometimes one or both. I also have neck pain. Is your back ok? Does your neck hurt? I am wondering about pinched nerves. I hope your day gets better. Calming myself helps me. Breathing deep and concentrating on relaxing muscles. The more it freaks me out the worse the symptoms seem. Hope it's better soon.

I get horrific arm pain occasionally. It usually happens after over use, but not always; sometimes I have no idea what I have done to it (it happens in both arms). My entire arm will ache and will have extreme pain with movement. It almost feels like there is a spasm or inflammation that is pressing on a nerve.

The only thing that helps me is immobilization. I actually bought a sling, and sometimes I use that if it is bad enough. For this particular issue, massage makes it 10 times worse. Leaving it alone is the only thing that helps me.

thanks guys.I may have to look into getting a sling.at least I know I'm not alone but I'm sorry you guys have this.I'm hoping that my doctor can prescribe something a little stronger for the pain thsn advil though. I'm just scared and wanted to get better

I had upper arm pain for over two years...my bicep.  I thought I had pulled the muscle really bad.  It turned out to be originating from my shoulder.  I've done some physical therapy and I massage the trigger points and do exercises to help that area of my body.  My arm is 80% better now and it took me about six months to do it.  I wrote all about it in the thread about the Trigger Point Therapy Workbook.

 

Hope this helps some.  It's quite painful and keeps you awake at night.

Definitely sounds like pinched nerves to me. I have spinal stenosis and mild scoliosis so this happens to me A Lot. Arms and legs, just one of the reasons I swear by Chiropractics, I would be crippled with them, and its the only treatment for pinched nerves other than surgery(butchery) that actually cures the issue and doesn't just mask the problem. Sorry, I didn't mean to get preachy I just have too many friend who have had multiple back surgeries and are on pain meds for life. I also swear by Yoga as does my chiro and their the best place, besides a naturopath, to get information about supplements. I am sending many healthy vibes to block the pain, hey it can't hurt.

It loves to flare up in my dominate arm the most.
I use heat, ice, and massage to ease it. Sometimes I use a sling.

I only have one true 'tender point' and its in my right upper arm. Sometimes when its just tapped, it feels like I've been shocked or electrocuted. Its very bizarre.

Yup, my arms are definitely involved, mostly when I've been more active. Perfect example is this silly (albeit necessary-I love it, it just wears.me.OUT) VBS this week. Lots of arm movements, and now, I have a ton of pain in the muscle connections above my elbows (in the back, mainly), and cramping/pain in my forearms. I have CTS, too, but this is completely independent of that, and in both arms. :( I get the tingling thing, too, especially if I've had my arms above my head too much or been lifting too much.

thanks guys. I guess sometimes misery just loves company lol. I'm sorry to bring this subject up with this is really a horrible horrible something to deal with for me right now. I'm sitting here on the couch with an ice pack on my arm having taken my advil in my pain medication and nothings working. Fortunately I have a smartphone that I can actually do a talk to text so I don't have to do any typing. I just wish I knew what else to do? My doctor wants to trade me on Lyrica again. I've done it in the past and it didn't seem to help with nerve pain.

has anyone ultram or toradol for the pain? Has it helped? When your arm pain does flare up, how long does it normally last for each of you? I'm going on two weeks now. I have had it adjusted by a chiropractor and massaged. neither of those things helped at all this time. Ugh!!

do you get periods of numbness in your arm as well? The tingling and the cramping are the worst! Help

CTS = Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I have it (moderate to severe) in my right hand, and will probably seek out a surgery consult soon. My mom had it done, and it has helped her SO much.

I've not found anything that really helps. Although last night was my night to increase my Gabapentin again, and I woke with little-to-no arm pain this morning (after a marathon yesterday of dancing/singing, waving arms around and clapping over my head). Now if it didn't knock me flat and I could take it during the day...that would be awesome.
