Go ahead. You know you wanna. What do you do super-well? Everybody has something, even if seems silly.

I can cook. I even enjoy it, though I don't like doing dishes! I like to feed people and plan menus based on some ethnic cuisine or celebration. I also grow my own (herbs... hee-hee) for my dishes. I really enjoy bold tastes and flavors. I also like to experiment, even when it doesn't turn out so well.

I am oh-so-happy being back with the gentleman, because now I can cook for someone who enjoys it!

My ex-hubby wouldn't eat anything with bold spices. Or veggies. Or fruits.

Before fibro took my grip I could make beautiful decorated cakes. It's too painful now for me to squeeze the frosting bags.

I can make a kid laugh very well now. They are amazed that I can wiggle my nose like a rabbit (up and down).

Great thread, Myself! There are so many abilities that have been taken away from us, that it's important to recognize what we ARE still good at.

I can harmonize spontaneously. It really sounds pretty good (except for the occasional note where my instinct was wrong.) I don't have a standout voice, or a strong one, but I really enjoy this - mostly when I'm by myself, but other times too....like singing Happy Birthday ;) My family is used to me.

I am a good painter and before fibro was a freelance artist back in the day...I can still pick up a painbrush so maybe I should start having a go again?

Yeah, Couchie! Flirting with the kiddies.

Oh, AB, I am jealous. I envy singers so very much. I cannot carry a tune, with or without a bucket. My musical theatre teacher said, cautiously, after my midterm, "Perhaps you ought to concentrate on straight plays." Well, that's okay. But listening to harmonizing is so cool!

Wackers, definitely paint again. I gave my 85 YO mother some watercolors for Christmas, and she is having so much fun going back to it. She used to paint until all us kids came along. It's a way of re-connecting with us, meaning the real us.

Tonight for dinner, making a BBQ pork fried rice, with char siu pork without soy or sugar we made this weekend, and cauliflower 'rice'.

I play the piano quite well.

I am good at making up stories (I've even had a couple published - some in local papers/newsletters and one in an actual book).

I can sing like nobody cares... Because they don't! It doesn't sound good but it makes me happy. I am very good at memorizing the most ridiculous facts and I have a great sense of humor. I can get someone to laugh no matter how yucky I feel. Last night I had the kids laugh so hard that my daughter peed her pants!

I used to write poetry, even had a few published. The problem with writing is that I have to stay in the same mindset or the tone of my story changes dramatically. I've written stuff for friends and my kids but its obvious when I left it and picked it back up because it may start funny and end tragically.

Music, music, music!  I played four musical instruments...the piano, banjo, violin, and baritone uke.  I now only play one...the baritone uke...because my hearing is so bad that sound is distorted.  The baritone uke is low enough that I still can hear it and I'm good with that.  Music really makes me happy.

 

I, too, love to cook.  That brings me joy...along with gardening.  I'm good at these two things, too. 

 

Lastly, I'm good at doing genealogy.  I love it.  It's like I'm a detective and discover all sorts of things.  I've been doing this for years and it takes my mind off my pain, too.

Oh! I can play the clarinet and saxophone. I always forget because I haven't stayed in practice like I should. I have a clarinet but my saxophone is not in good shape anymore. It tried to make one too many moves.

I can do a fairly good imitation of the Wicked Witch's voice on The Wizard of Oz.

That's excellent Luv-ster. We have a musical group, apparently. Not I, sadly.

In college, I was always cast opposite a good friend who did character roles, as did I. He and I developed a routine around Miracle Max and his wife Valerie from The Princess Bride. It was fun to do, and always got a laugh.

I forgot I could do silly voices. I did puppets years ago for my church and I have a wide variety of voices.

I still love to get silly and make crazy voices. My niece says I'm weird, but a good weird.

That's funny, Luvz! I often find myself croaking those Wicked Witch lines, "These things must be done delicately, or you break the spell," and "All in good time, my little pretty," and Glinda's, "You have no power here! Be gone - before somebody drops a house on you!"  They seem to be appropriate in so many situations.


Myself, I love that scene from Princess Bride! Talk about a good movie when you're in too much pain to do anything else.

I would say we are a goofy bunch!   turn

I am impressed with all this talent !!

Myself, rarely , when in emotional pain I write really good poetry.. but is too personal to ever share ; (.. I have always wanted to be a writer but never seriously enough to just do.. think this might stir me a bit !!!

What little bit I did of it, I enjoyed teaching & interfacing with others
(my main career is / was kinda independently. )
And I am good at it too.. new software, etc.

Spent my life working - lots of hours
but, once I - miraculously- really according to several dr became a mother, I found I really loved being a mom & now I love being a grandmother..
Not interested in other people's kids.. you know like childcare..

Just really enjoy being part of their discovery of even the most basic things in their lives.. that look of wonder - that joy.

Keep um coming folks. Great thread am happy this is stirring some to consider taking up the paint brush, etc again.

I started learning to draw but I haven't practised enough to ever find out if I'm good at it or not. But I enjoyed it! I think I will start drawing again. I have been told I'm pretty good at painting. I like cooking too - especially baking! (I have a sweet tooth)

We're all quite creative, aren't we? Music, visual arts (painting, drawing), performing arts (acting, singing, comedy), creative writing (poetry, stories)... even cooking could be considered "culinary arts".

I like to bake. Just recently discovered that I'm pretty good at it. I joined the group today and this happens to be my first post. What a way to start my journey! I would really love to go to culinary school! Latin cuisine and baked goods are my favorites! I look forward to becoming part of this group. I'm grateful to have others with whom I can relate.
