Come to the conclusion,

Finally sank in that I can no longer do things like I use to, I worked in the yard for 4 hours the other day and was down for 3 days because of it. I can't stand this, I feel so lazy and un-productive, thank God my daughter still lives at home, she helps me so much. Having my Granddaughter here brightens my day every day, just sucks when I have a hard time holding her.

I read your words and know exactly how your feeling. It's the worst feeling to never get back, what you once had, but it's also nice to know that you have that grandchild and love, and love you back through the pain.

I know what you mean. Fibro limits us and just plain getting older limits us. I've got a 66 year old fibromite body with a mind that makes me think I'm in my early 20's. But you know what? I don't look at what I can't do. I look at what I CAN do and that still is a lot. I'm so thankful for that. I have my independence and can come and go as I please. Some days it might not be as easy as others but at least I still can do it.

I guess it's all in the way you think of things. I prefer to look at the positives in my life because it sure makes me a lot happier than looking at the negative things.

You know deep down that you are not lazy. You just have to learn to pace yourself. No way could I work in the yard to four hours! I worked in my yard earlier this week for 1 1/2 hours straight and was shouting it from the rooftops here on the forum. I usually can only work for 1/2-3/4's of an hour at one time. So you just bit off more than your fibromite body could chew. Pace yourself, do a little at a time and rest and, before you know it, you will have accomplished the whole thing...just in a different time frame.
