I just saw the results of bloodwork/urine testing for a drug trial I am on for crohns disease. The nurse handling the paperwork for the study showed it to me.
Bloodwork was within normal parameters. More worrying was the presence of protein and bacteria in the urine sample. I have had low levels of infection for some time now, did two rounds of antibiotics in the fall. I have mentioned my concerns to several doctors before I moved, but they shrugged (likely because it was in an area they didn't cover). But an infection is a problem here, and I think has been for some time.
Glucose was fine. Rules out diabetes.
I still haven't located a PCP here. I am going to go to a Urgent Care place and get them to do a urine test, and then find a PCP over the weekend, and make a real appointment.

You should ask if they can do a susceptability test to figure out which antibiotic you need to kill the infection. I think even the urgent care can order it, but it takes a couple of days to get the results. How frustrating that you haven't got help for it yet.

I really think this is a resistant infection. I had MRSA four years ago, and have really noticed a change in my body's reaction to infection since then.
They gave me cipro, and an anti-yeast medication, so that I don't get a yeast infection. when I was on cipro last year, I threw up a lot, but my crohns was also flaring, so it's worth a try. Need to find a PCP now.
I flippin' hate being delicate. I am so tired of it. I walked in with my accordion folder, list of meds. The nurse was laughing at me.

Ah, sorry, Myself. I completely understand the hating being delicate. Nice nurse (not.)
I take it you've ruled out your boyfriend's PCP?

I used to. Get them all the. Time. Taking certain things out of my diet helped a lot. Research interstitial cystitis if. This is a chronic issue for you. I hope you get some relief!!

Debbie- His PCP is down where he works. He is a bit of a doctor snob, and will drive further to get the pedigree. I think I have found one here in town that looks positive to me. I just need to give them a call.
Nancy-Interesting. I am on a restrictive diet for crohns disease. There ought not to be anything for those buggers to feed on.

I have found the diet for IC to be very restrictive. Most of the time it works for me.

Very restrictive, unless you cook, which I do. And time consuming, too. And eating out is a nightmare.
Unless you cheat, a little.

I have to cook since I live 45 minutes from the nearest town. I never knew tomatoes or tomato products were in so many foods until I found out I can't eat tomatoes!
And vinegar, and anything with citrus or citric acid, or MSG...could go on and on...
