Hi everyone,
It's been a year since I last posted on here, so here I go.
In about the past year, I had about 6-7 fibro flares, so which is awesome.
Last Christmas, my last grandparent died. My father's mother was 89 and had Alzheimer's for 5 1/2 years. My dad's family said I look just like her and also have her spunk...LOL!
In February, had a HUGE fight with my husband's family over stupidity (as usual) and I didn't speak to them for about a month. My fibro went off the wall then. I almost divorced my husband, but we are back together, better than ever. But in late February, I switched jobs. I am now designing for a local Classified Ad Newspaper and Lifestyle Magazine. GREAT people who I work for.
My husband had a colonoscopy the exact same day that I started my new job, but everything is okay thankfully.
My husband's grandfather past away in March along with my husband's brother's wedding three week after the funeral in April.
My fibro has been so much better, but every once in a while, it gets the best of me. I find that I have to rest well on weekends and then I'm fine for the weekdays.
I just bought a house about a two months ago and I'm real excited about it.
I took on a part-time job designing for my old company but I don't have to travel an hour away to get the work done. I'm working from home.
Anyways, the main reason that I'm posting back on here is I'm looking into becoming pregnant in about the next two years. At work, I was offered AFLAC policies such as Cancer, Accidental Death and so on, so I accepted them, but I was denied short-term disability because of my fibromyalgia. My company that I work for is small (about 20 employees) and I was devastated when the sales guy told me I couldn't get it. The company has to be 50+ employees for to cover me. I was looking forward to having it so when I go on maternity leave, but I'm trying to do my research on other short-term disability plans, but I'm confused by some of them. Also with the new Health Care Reform, I don't know whether I will have a chance to get back on AFLAC. I hope so. I have NEVER applied for disability with my fibro because GOD thankfully, that I am able to work.
So, if anyone has any information or stories about pregnancy, fibro and short-term disability, I would much appreciate it.
Thanks for listening to my rant.
