Is heat intolerance common with Fibromyalgia?

I've heard just the opposite, that cold intolerance is common.
I however have horrible symptoms flare when getting out into the heat.
Is this common? If not maybe its not fibro.... hmmmmm

I've actually read many people on here having heat intolerance, but I'm always cold, myself, which I guess is more typical.

I have heat intolerance. I sweat like a pig in 76 degree weather.

I also have heat intolerance. When I was younger, I used to love the summer months. The hotter, the better. Now I dread it almost as much as the cold (I also have RA). So for me, it is a no win situation. Like others, I can sweat in the summer months at the drop of a hat. It is so uncomfortable and I hate it. But it is what it is so I just get through it the best that I can.

I am normally the cold girl- but then when I started taking cymbalta I became intolerant of both! Oh joy!

I can't stand the heat at all. It makes my symptoms worse and I start to feel sick, even when the temperature is only in the 80s. I also get heat rashes really easily.

I couldn't stand heat, but that might have been more due to my obesity.

Heat doesn't phase me now.... not even 100+, as long as the humidity is low (like it usually is here in Nor Cal ;) Couldn't handle 100+ in the South, with 90+ % humidity ! Ya'll can just keep all of that down there :) I like to dry off when I get out of the shower :)

Nowadays, if it gets below 60, and I let myself sit still for 30 minutes, I'll get chilled. I'm SOOO dreading Winter.... and it doesn't even snow here in Nor Cal.

Sorry, I get it from both ends too! Heat makes me crazy, and so does the cold..I think the cold thing has more to do with the arthritis than anything...but I do enjoy a good hot tub soak, weird huh? lol

I'm very heat intolerant. I actually don't sweat very much, and maybe that contributes. I feel weak and dizzy when I get too hot. On the flip side, the cold makes me hurt more, so it's lose-lose. Like Goldilocks I'm only comfortable when the temp is just right.

I also had my first intense hot flash this weekend. OMG. I wanted to climb in the freezer.

I think it can go either way for Fibro patients. I tend to be cold all the time but I know humidity or bad heat makes me feel horrible.

i feel like i cant tolerate the heat but the cold flares up my FM much more.

I just cannot go outside, even to get into the pool, after 12 noon.
Getting into a hot car is impossible for me.
I have noticed when I am trying to schedule a procedure that some people, working in medical office, are not understanding at all. The nice ones tho make up for the persnickertie ones, thank goodness. I dont ever go anywhere other than medical offices, and they cannot make morning appointments for every one.

I do love cold weather, and cold weather clothes. A fire place is so cozy and I love hot drinks.

I am going to try to be normal today and save money usually paid to housekeeper. If I hurt, then I hurt. I dont want the hassle of someone here at my house. Even one person, who I actually like, is a bother.

I gotta go check on whats going on here on the forum........until later......Cathy
