So, my son in law told me that a local humane society was doing free adoptions for the month of September..
As our dog has been missing for a while, and since I feel so crappy all the time right now,
Told hubby about
it, and we went to check it out!!
We ended up looking at 2 dogs, 1 part shepard (at least it had a shep head in god knows what kind of skinny short body!)...he was a 61 lb. puppy.. Literally!! There was NO way I could walk/control/manage this dog
Then the volunteer brought us out Beef..he was the most kind, gentle, loving, relaxed dog I have EVER seen
So, we ended up with a 92 lb. bull mastiff/black lab
who loves to cuddle, and play..and ever lets me walk him on a leash (without him walking me!)
ANd ya know, when we talk about
it to others, one guy said, "Hey, you have to get the dog that fits you, not the other way around"..
As corny as that sounds, he was TOTALLY right!!! Do I have the energy for a TRUE puppy??? HECK NO!
But this guy was trained just enough, that all I ahve to do is polish him up a bit..but he a great...now if I could only get the cat to agree
