New Symptoms--is it all Fibro?

I have been having some new symptoms lately-blurred vision, eye floaters, numb lips, fingers, arm, vibrating in my chest, and all the other usual sick feelings. I asked my Rheum. for a referral to a Neurologist and have an appt. for a consult w/ him. What could all this be?? Help!!!!

When you see the neurologist ask to be checked for benign fasciculation syndrome. I found out recently that people with fibro can develop this. It's harmless but is very annoying.

Couchtater I think I may have benign fasciulation syndrome, but forgot to mention it to the neuro when I saw him!!
What meds or things can help it, if any? When I next go back I will tell him but for now I have to put up with it :o(

I'm not sure about what medicines will help it. Maybe what they give people with restless legs?
I'm thinking my diagnosis was wrong and I have BFS too.
I'll be doing a game on my ipad and I'd suddenly twitch causing a wrong move. I also will be laying in bed trying to fall asleep as I get random twitching jumping around my body.
It's a very annoying thing! :-(

which diagnosis do you mean?

Yes I jerk and twitch like that...my leg jumps, my shoulder jerks...twitching all round my legs and feet. I absoloutely hate it

I have had Restless legs in the past also - but never got meds for it

I was recently told I had benign familiar tremor. Which is an inherited shaking in the hands and arms. My grandfather, several aunts and uncles, father, and brother all have it.
However, I shake in other places besides my hands and arms.

Hello there,

I can related to what your saying!

I occasionally get blurred vision, have had floters for years.

I get numbness in various parts of the body including the face and lips,in fact, i just saw my neurologist last week.

He thinks the facial numbness, tounge numbness is related to headaches. I too get headaches.

It tuns out that headaches can cause a whole host of strange symptoms that you wouldn't suspect.

Do you get headaches?

I also get numbness in the feet alot, fingers and hands.

Also those vibrations you mentioned, ive been having those all day today. These seem to come and go.

A Neuro consult is a great idea, in fact my Neuro doc is the one that diagnosed me with fibromyalgia after running some tests and sending me to a Rheumatologist. Everything was negative. or ruled out.

Fibromyalgia mimmics so many neurological conditions so it can be scarey.

I hope everything turns out ok as it did for me except of course for the fibro. Even though painful and frustrating, not dangerous.

please keep in touch and let me know whats the verdict.

Suet- have you been already diagnosed with fibro? All your symptoms sounds like fibro symptoms. It doesn't hurt to get it checked out by a neuro Dr. They probably would do a MRI of the brain. I have those symptoms currently.

yes, i hear you and can relate...i have been getting many new weird symptoms and wondering if i should just see a rheumy or sounds like many seek out a neurologist? am taking so many meds and pain doc just added a quick acting pain med called nucynta for breakthrough pain but nothing seems to work anymore....now both hands and wrists become stiff sore and achy, arms become numb and tingly, every inch of me is stiff sore and achy most of the time...so sick of going to doctors too....
