Today I shopped too long at Kohl's. On my feet for close to 2 hours. Legs and feet really complaining...
I still had to go to Target (to get an alarm clock) and decided to use an electric cart. Well, without the body yelling at me, it turned out there were all kinds of things I wanted to check out. I was happily zooming around for another hour.
Got to the checkout lane, the girl rang up my stuff, and when I reached down for my purse - - it wasn't there!! Well, I figured someone must have lifted it. Why would I have taken it out? Didn't use the bathroom...
So I was freaking out, zooming around again to all the places I'd been, cursing under my breath, telling the service desk people and the store cop that someone had to have lifted it out when my back was turned. I figured my spaciness had finally caught up with me (after all, I must have left my purse on top of a car or in a shopping cart AT LEAST 20 times in my life. And I've always gotten it back!)
I was standing at the service desk, loudly proclaiming my outrage, when the cop walked up with my purse. AHH!! Where was it?? In one of the other carts I'd tried out before I started shopping. Oh my. It had been sitting there all that time, off to the side, where many people must have noticed it. And, once again, I somehow got away with it.
Whenever this happens, it really renews my faith in people. But I didn't tell my hubby....he'd just say I shouldn't carry a purse.
