"I'm so dizzy my head is spinning, like a whirlpool it never ends." I have been singing this the last couple of days with my dizziness. I have never had such a problem with being dizzy until the last three days I have been super dizzy/woozy all day long. Any suggestions? Anyone else ever deal with this? I have been laying in bed blogging but I still have problems. The only way to make the dizziness stop is laying down completely flat which doesn't work for my productivity!

I went through this about a month ago due to a nasty flare.
It took about a week or two to get over it. Just rest and try not to move suddenly.

Eeks! That sounds nasty. This sounds like what a friend of mine experiences when her Meniere's Disease acts up. (I was told by an ENT doc that I have it too, but although I have diziness, it's nothing like as bad as you're describing.) Low-frequency hearing loss comes with Meniere's, and I do definitely have that.

This friend was shown an exercise by a doctor - some way that she positions her head - people have talked about it here, actually. It helps her some, as does reducing salt.

I think this bad diziness can also be caused by "positional vertigo" or something like that. It has to do with movement of particles in the inner ear, maybe - ? Anyway, I'd google it.

P.S. I remember that "Dizzy" song very well!  I was in jr high when it came out.  It stuck in my brain because my best friend would play it over - and over - and over - while marching around the room.   cool    

Kim was always a bit dizzy - or should I say ditzy.    But she sure was a lot of fun!  yeah

I added a new problem today! Well it was underlying the dizziness I think but it has become obvious. I walked up the street (2 blocks) to my landlords- and almost passed out from my racing heart and dizziness. I am leaning towards taking a couple of days off of work in hopes that I will get better-but I have a feeling it is not going to go away that easily! I prefer fatigue and pain to this heart racing dizziness! Do you think the Fibro God will let me do a trade in?

You could try the type of Dramamine that is made of Meclazine. It is a motion sickness pill. It is also given for ear aches. It has helped me with dizziness. I don't know if it is only dizziness created by ear problems or not but it is a cheap thing to try out. Good luck

Could it be anxiety? Are you anxious about something? If not, I'd talk to the doctor. I used to get short of breath and my heart racing. At first my doctor thought it was allergies but then discovered I was quite anemic! Once I took care of that I was fine

I hope you feel better. That sounds awful.

No anxiety! I have been having a great time working on this fascinating blog on flame retardants- yeah I am a big science nerd. I am still trying to find a doctor here in Pittsburgh that I like. I have taken off work for tomorrow so that I can rest- my one goal tomorrow will be to call the list of doctors, suck it up, pick one, and make an appointment. God, I despise calling doctors offices! Thanks for the advice and concern! It is greatly appreciated!

Shay, check doctors out at healthgrades.com and vitals.com. These are good sites...especially if you are new to an area. They are pretty accurate.
