I went to a Neurologist and wanted some answers for the numbness, stiffness, headaches & extreme fatigue I have been having. He ordered some blood tests and an MRI. The nurse from his office called me today and said there are some abnormalities in my brain scan. And I will be going for more blood tests and to talk to the Neuro in a few days.

I am wondering-- is this common with Fibromyalgia? And how will it be treated?

There is so much they don't know about fibro...who knows?

I have lupus and I do have some abnormal spots on my brain but he didn't seem too worried at the time.

I hope it's nothing to worried about. Good luck.

It's impossible to say, really. You don't know what you're dealing with yet.

I'ts also entirely possible that those abnormalities will be just little peculiarities you don't even have to worry about! I hope so - it's hard not to worry when they say that word, though, I know...

Try not to read into their minds. It just causes you stress. I just went through this and I had to wait a few weeks before I saw my dr. Next thing I knew I was having these extra symptoms just because what was said to me on the phone. I was amazed how our minds cause placebo symptoms. All those new symptoms were gone after I was told what the test read. So just try not to put too much thought into it.

Hey, I hope everything goes well. Fibro. is a disease that many people do not know about. Try not to look on the internet too much, it could really get you down. Best of luck!

The sooner you know what`s going on, the better. I think many with fibro people have periods of ruling out some other disease and feel concerned.

You have been given very good advice already. I had an MRI for my sudden hearing loss but never for fibro so I really can't help you.

Do try to relax and focus on other things. It could be nothing but a doctor needs to let you know.

I had a couple of abnormal spots show up on my brain scan, also, but the neurologist wasn't overly concerned.

As I have mentioned other times on this forum, I have both fibro and an unspecified neuro condition (possible mild CP is the best guess). I was told things were generally okay despite the spots, but it's pretty much a 'wait and see' diagnosis. So far, so good, and it's been a few years!

Personally, I wouldn't be too concerned. Have a relaxing, enjoyable day, hopefully doing something you enjoy! :)
