butran patch

Hi everyone, i am have fibro and my dr is considering putting me on a butran patch. I know fibro is hard because what works for one may not work for another but has anyone used butran and if so did it help? I tried Lyrica even though i didnt want to and i did have to go off of it cause i started having scary thoughts. I would prefer an opiod but i dont want to sound like i just want pain meds. What i want is to be able to work and take care of my family and to not be sleepy all the time but still sleep at night and to not be in constant pain.....you know, to feel kind of normal again...i miss being me . Thanks

Know peace- I don't use the butran patch, but I do use the med in oral form called buprenorphine. My Dr. Says mine is much stronger then the patch. I love the med itself. It really has given my life back to me. I don't have those up and downs with breakthrough as much. The best part is not waking up feeling like I am 80 in the morning. I take 8 mg of subutex twice daily sublingal. I have heard some stories about the patch that they were not very strong and people having trouble getting the full 7 days on it. You can go online and put in butrans patch likes and it will give you some post on how others like the patch. Some good post there.

Maybe you can mention subutex with your Dr. The med is an opioid. I love it because it's less addictive and you function very well on it. I hope you can try either one and get good results.
