Just wanted to cry

I went outside to rake a few leaves in the yard because we are having so beautiful weather. Hard to believe we are high 40's and no snow. Anyways after doing very little bending over I started hurting in my back and my arms. The pain started consuming me and I just wanted to cry. I am tired of pain!!! Just want to do things without having to complain about pain. Sometimes I get this idea I wish I could work. Days like this remeindes me real quick I could never hold a job down.
I am trying to end this day in a postive attitude, but it can be hard sometimes.

Yes, it sure can. It's so frustrating.

I raked some leaves too, a couple of days in a row. But I've hurt myself in the past by raking too much, so I only did about 5-6 strokes each day, and kept my back straight. Then I made myself quit. Not much fun that way, but better than nothing....

I understand where you're coming from. I get those bursts of energy, then do too much, and pay big time for it.
I would love to get back out into the work world but I know I can't survive .

Hi Ak,

So sorry you paid so big price for something that most of the people wouldn`t even mention and notice as a kind of effort. The weather in fall is often misleading. I hope you are already better.

Are you doing better today, Angel? I don't rake or sweep. The back and forth motion always puts me in a flare. I bought a Shark vac to clean my tile so I didn't have to use the sweeping motion. Moving my arms forward and backward doesn't seem to bother me.

Leaves? I wait until mother nature blows them away. yeah if that doesn't happen, my daughter comes over with her blower and blows them in a pile and I bag them.

Hope you are doing better, Angel. I am like Sherrine. I don't rake, sweep, or vacuum. That will put me right into a flare. Luckily my hubby does those chores for me. However, I have found that I can use one of those Swiffer dry cloth mops to do the kitchen and bathroom floors. They are so light you just basically have to move them around--They pick up the dirt and dust bunnies and I feel like I can ACTUALLY accomplish something in the way of housework like I use to do.

My pain is some better, but it starts right up with doing any bending. I know it would be beneficial to do an MRI, but I probably wouldn't fix anything until I absolutely have too. It feels like it swells on the very low part of the back. I seem to have very few days feeling good. I am so thankful that I am not working. Thanks for the support.

My hubby did the yard, but we had a late few leaves fall off, so I thought it was a small amount. I wanted some fresh air, but got the pain instead.

Debbie, thanks for asking. My pain is much better. I have been doing very little work and just resting my back. I can tell it has helped. I sometimes forget I have the right to go to bed anytime because I don't work due to my health. I sometimes have to remind myself to rest and sit back.
